  1. The fact that you think those are the same is comical. How many people are starting threads calling for your job and talking about how they don't agree with the decisions you make? Man up and schedule a meeting.
  2. It's just not the place for it. Man up and take them to the coach. IF you truly care about the well being of the team and kids BGP is not the place for a thread like this. If you are bitter and don't truly care about the kids, school or program...which is what I take from this...then by all means fire away so they all can read it and cause even more dissension.
  3. BGP at it's worst. And that's not a shot at the site, by any means. Just an unfortunate repercussion of free speech and a forum for all to see.
  4. Completely different story if water is not provided.
  5. It's not a problem, until your entire roster has mommy and daddy behind your bench handing out juice boxes and orange slices. You're in high school, if you can't figure out a way to get a Gatorade beforehand then drink the water provided. Like always, it's not a big deal initially. Of course, until each parent sees it happen and thinks they'd like to "get in their kids ear" too.
  6. How many minutes are these coaches getting per game?
  7. Completely agree with your statement about situational awareness. Nothing worse than the official that wants to make the big call or all the calls. Screams "Look at me!". They are out there and it's frustrating. Just call the game to the best of your ability but have some sort of clue.
  8. #1 rule for officials, no one paid to see you.
  9. Maybe this is the main issue. Announcer giving details while the visitor's are shooting free throws. I can't imagine it happens often and can't remember the last time I saw it. The fact that you can't say if it's a 2 or 3 is kind of absurd.
  10. The thread title made me laugh out loud. Good stuff.
  11. There is a Simpsons episode with this exchange. Lisa: I'm supposed to practice an hour a day! Homer: I'll practice you! Lisa: You'll practice me, what does that mean, is it supposed to be some sort of a threat? Just thought it was relevant to the thread.
  12. I made the mistake of coming into this thread thinking there would be an intelligent discussion about the Dixie/SK game. I should of known better.
  13. It's never-ending and unproductive. Complain to your Supers, Principals and football coaches, they are the one's that wanted 6 classes.
  14. What? Wouldn't too few schools make for too many classes? Classes are much easier to control than number of schools.
  15. Regardless of your opinion, the bolded is one of the reasons for the agreement. And I'm not saying the kids transferring is hearsay. I'm saying the recruiting violations are. If everyone has such incriminating evidence, report them. As for the second bolded, you're talking coaches strategy vs an agreement drawn up by school admins. Two completely different things. No other way to put it but you are reaching and attempting to justify an agreement drafted by the FPS that is doing nothing more than attempting to "level the playing field" in athletics, by bringing someone down instead of building themselves up.
  16. If they committed recruiting violations, report them. If not, it's hearsay. Yes, hamstring them by making a kid sit a year if deemed a legal transfer by the KHSAA (or not at all considering they weren't even in HS) OR making sure they have to cover the cost for extra travel for regular season games. Transfers happen every year to all kinds of schools. If they are deemed eligible by the KHSAA then they are eligible, period. Regardless of what FPS thinks.
  17. Come on. The only reason LexCath and LCA entered into the agreement was to keep them from spending a ton of money traveling everyday of the week. No, FPS didn't set the rules for transfers but they were going to hamstring the two schools they couldn't keep up with by entering into a silly agreement so they have a chance. Pathetic, IMO.
  18. Why does FPS get to set rules limiting a child's ability to play a sport, in addition to what the governing body they agreed to participate under, has in place? They don't like losing kids to a school that was doing things better, athletically, than a lot of their schools. That's a FPS problem, not a LCA/LexCath problem. Great lesson for the kids. If someone is better than you, figure out a way to bring them down to your level instead of getting up to their level.
