  1. I'm not a fan of, "It's your job" or "That's a man's/woman's job". :poop:'s got to get done, period.
  2. If it's not 50/50 in every aspect, it's not going to work, IMO.
  3. Because he was at Duke a few days earlier and couldn't even talk to his players it was so loud. Shows up at the Dean Dome on a night to honor Coach Smith and the fans are sitting on their hands. I loved hearing it.
  4. It's MLB people, not college or high school. Some of the pitchers are beyond goofy. Face it Reds fans, our closer sleeps 12+ hours a day (sometimes even during the game), smokes heaters, eats unhealthy, drives real fast, likes hookers and throws cheddar. And no, nothing else matters if you throw 100+.
  5. It's really preference. The high level guys may like it more. Ball feels smaller, less blisters, better feel...etc. Some feel they can throw tighter breaking balls. However, I know some feel they need better grip of the seams to be able to "tug" on them. One would also think the reduction in drag means good two seams, circle changes...etc would get more movement. As for the hitting portion... The NCAA is saying this, though. "It’s worth noting that the seams do not affect exit velocity, because the drag effect does not take effect until the ball travels a considerable distance." That covers their butt regarding player safety. However, a ball that was hit 367 feet with the old ball is now going 387 feet. But it won't get on the pitcher quicker...
  6. I don't want to get too specific. Here's what I'll say. I do not work for a private company. We have over 12,000 employees. We average $140 million a month in revenue. The industry is interesting, to say the least. It is neither highly automated nor high margin but highly regulated. Easiest way I can explain it is that we are not a private company so not all of our funding necessarily comes from profit margin (although the majority of it does, obviously).
  7. Plantman asked if the raises were warranted, that's why I specifically quoted him in that post. How would we know if they are warranted? What the return will be? If they will be better employees? We don't, but when a company is as successful as Walmart you can be dang sure they know why they are doing it. We're in agreement, as you stated in the above post.
  8. I work for an organization that is top 3 in the country in their industry and has been for a while. I am a financial analyst for them. Cost of goods (What the supplier charges, delivery, government regulations...etc) impact the cost passed on to the consumer WAY more than annual salary increases. Matter of fact, not one person in the financial sector has ever requested data on impact of salary increases since I've been here...10 years. The cost to operate is calculated in the budget and there are budget increases every year. New positions, sure, large impact. Employee pay raises, little impact.
  9. I don't know, everyone at my job is entitled to an annual review and pay increase based on said review. Unless you are under some type of warning, everyone pretty much gets some type of raise, even a little. That is true even if you didn't necessarily improve. My job didn't change from this year to last year with the exception of gaining experience. The same could be said about this move if the raise is going to employees who have been working for them. Another funny, some of BGP feels they can better run Walmart than those running it now, when their gross profit was $31.18 BILLION in 2013.
  10. Prices are going up whether they give raises or not. If they are too high you don't shop there. That's the beauty of competition. Pretty simple. Are those two things the same? Good grief. People get raises for a job they are already doing, which has little to no impact on everyone else (besides potentially raising prices of items you can get at multiple stores). Drunk lady on drugs steals merchandise and causes an accident with injuries. Ridiculous.
  11. Leave it to BGP to turn a story about people getting raises into a negative. Solid work.
  12. I'm not sure I know of any racist organizations in Britain. Should I? Current or throughout history. Maybe someone will name one.
  13. How do you think that conversation went with his parents? Especially if dad isn't slinging a jackhammer.
  14. Potentially. I just have a feeling they are going to find the chip inside the scar on her wrist. Could be completely wrong, maybe it's just a burn scar.
  15. Now we're supposed to believe the Colts? Similar to UKMF saying it's a witch hunt by the NFL immediately after he says Kraft is untouchable. Which is it? We can't have both.
  16. If you can now watch baseball because the game is 10-15 minutes shorter, you are an idiot. I don't care who you are, what you do and how much money you make. 10-15 minutes? Really? Here's an idea, don't waste the other 2 1/2 hours and don't buy seats of real fans on opening day. Jackwagon.
  17. Yes, if you have a big that won't flop Okafor can bury his shoulder and score everytime. Two possessions in a row where a flop would have been called a charge.
