Because white people want to use it and can't. Not because they like the word, but because they don't like that a black man can say something a white man can't.
I hate that I wasn't alive to go to Crosley. I would give anything to go back in time to see those fields.
Crosley, Ebbets, Forbes, Baker Bowl, Griffith, Exposition, Polo Grounds, Shibe Park, Sportsmans Park...all of them. But especially, Crosley, Ebbets, Polo Grounds and Shibe Park.
And I thought after I saw Dwayne Wayne (or Edge) playing a dad who is a spy, whose daughter is also a spy, on the Disney Channel (of all places) that we were past this. Apparently, not.
Come on, guys. She didn't randomly come up with the word without ever hearing it. Someone said it and it was not said in a positive light. If you want to say she screwed up and used the word by accident as she was on the spot, fine. To say she didn't know the meaning of the word or, at the very least, didn't know it had a negative connotation seems impossible to me.
Like I said, can someone use that word in a positive manner in a sentence? Please, give an example.
For those saying she didn't know it was offensive...
She had to hear the word somewhere, right?
I can't think of a scenario where the context surrounding the use of said word is anything but offensive.
But that's just me. #whiteguy
