  1. Actually, it would be like someone failing a drug test for something that's not illegal in the US. You didn't see them take it, you don't know if someone "spiked" a drink or their food with it, all you know is they failed the test. A punishment is still getting handed down and the player will appeal.
  2. They'll simply implement a rule that all balls must be checked before each quarter, or between possessions, or at the kickoff immediately prior to the start of the game and halftime. Something absurd like that.
  3. You mean one more??? This isn't a court of law. The NFL doesn't need proof beyond a reasonable doubt. All but one of their balls was under inflated, they had the opportunity to manipulate them, they clearly didn't have a problem with it because they weren't complaining from the start. Like Bugatti said, no smoking gun but anyone can see they had a hand in it. Does anyone really think that if Tom Brady didn't want the balls under inflated he wouldn't have insisted on them pumping them up prior to the start of the game? He warms up, right?
  4. Did those scientists explain why only the Pats balls were under inflated? I don't care either, especially since it's football. The NFL could go away and I wouldn't lose one bit of sleep over it. However, Kraft comes off as an arrogant, pompous jackwagon like his head coach. The NFL owes the Pats nothing but a punishment.
  5. It was simply a coincidence that all but 1 of the Pats balls were under inflated and none of the Colts balls were? My mistake, he avoided suspension and paid half a mil. He still got caught cheating. You're clearly bias. Considering the balls had zero bearing on the outcome it would be a lot easier if Pats fan would just own up to the fact that their coach and QB will do anything to win, regardless of the rules. They'll get their SB championship, which is all anyone really cares about.
  6. He said they need to apologize because they had no evidence they did anything wrong. The Patriots balls were 2 lbs under inflated but the Colts balls were not. (This sounds a lot like evidence to me but I'm no Sherlock Holmes) Your head coach has already been suspended for cheating in the past. (The fact that others may do it is irrelevant) They aren't innocent just because they denied the allegations the week before the Super Bowl.
  7. Did the league lie about the balls being deflated nearly 2 lbs? I thought they tested all the game balls at halftime?
  8. Definitely looks like a lineup picture. No way they randomly pick 6 people in Miami and not one is of Latin descent. Not a smart move and I can see where people would be upset with it but I don't think it's racially motivated. #whitemanthoughts
  9. Those that don the "tools of ignorance" deserve to get paid.
  10. Like I said, there's no scenario, IMO, where the pitch clock is less than :30. More than :30 between pitches is extremely rare. Even still, when does the pitch clock start? What if it's a foul ball? The best thing about baseball is there is no clock. There's a ton of gamesmanship that goes on with hitters. Are they no longer going to be able to call timeout before a pitch? The more I think about it the less I like it.
  11. Personally, I would adjust the mound height first. You can't push it back due to arm issue's. Restricting coaches strategy and willingness to take risk is a bad idea, IMO. And I think we agree that a pitch clock is not the way to increase action, just get the game over quicker.
  12. Right. Which was my initial point. You can't force the action. Baseball is what it is. Take it or leave it.
  13. I get it but you can't force the action. How long is it between plays in the NFL? Is there much of a difference between a snap every 20 seconds and a pitch every 20 seconds? Again, I know not every pitch creates "action" according to the average viewer but it's still necessary. Furthermore, while that rush up the middle for no gain is part of the game, to potentially set up something later, the same is true for each pitch. While sometimes that pitch is viewed to be much more insignificant than that no gain rush.
  14. The slowest pitcher in 2010 threw a pitch every 25.9 seconds. Average pace of game was 21.5 seconds. No way a pitch clock is implemented below 30 seconds. The pace is fine. I know most starting pitchers shoot for 18-19 seconds between pitches. Relievers are a different story.
  15. I'm not a fan of anything that "speeds up the game". Not necessary, IMO.
  16. I sure hope the last few months haven't been test runs for what's to come. Scary stuff.
  17. The easiest solution to increasing offense is lowering the mound again. Even if it's only 1". Banning the shift makes no sense to me.
  18. The fact that you think those are the same is comical. How many people are starting threads calling for your job and talking about how they don't agree with the decisions you make? Man up and schedule a meeting.
