All the NBa has to do is allow teams to keep players by matching any offer. If your exsisting team matches, you can't leave. This would keep players from joining together and forming all star teams.

Why would you stop them? So basically you don't want there to be free agents or basically any kind of roster changes based on free agency? It makes no sense to restrict players like that. And actually they do have that, it's called restricted free agents.

The very small amount of respect I had for LeBron the basketball player is completely gone after tonight. What a coward. News flash Cleveland could have gave him more money than any team. James is taking less money to go to Miami to get a championship! Cleveland never got him a young superstar to help him they did get him a old guy name Shaq and some random guy they called Coach. Cleveland will always be Cleveland sore losers! Just the fact down at South Beach its a topless Beach would make me play in Miami!

As bad as I wish it didn't, it does fit him. I'll never be convinced that this move wasn't more about his brand than winning. He needs to win to take the next step as a player and global icon. Doesn't he have enough money? Doesn't staying, building a championship team, and actually accomplishing something feel better than going to a situation that is a few pieces away from dominating the league? At the end of the day I guess all anyone can ask for is to be happy. My question is if he is truly going to be as happy in Miami as he is in Cleveland. He is playing with friends, but he had friends in Cleveland. His city and state loved him and now it will be hard for him to come home. People will devalue his championships IMO, even if somehow he wins 7 or 8 with the Heat. He loses money, and lost a lot of fans all over the country tonight. Is it really worth it? For his sake I hope his answer is yes.

The NBA will follow MLB in that the gap between the haves and have nots will grow. A few teams will have all the great players, while others will fill their rosters with what is left. Every now and then a small market team will do well, but like the Yankees in baseball, the big markets will dominate.
