He wondered if there was doping involved that would remove pain from her front ankles allowing her to run faster. When she went down, they quickly euthanized her, hoping that it would not be found. Total speculation on his part. Not likely at the Derby. There are pre-race and post-race blood tests plus stringent monitoring from the horses moment of arrival. As for the quick euthanization, that is SOP for any horse suffering an on track injury like that. I mean, this isn't professional baseball...
