May 5, 200818 yr We are not talking about some $2000.00 claiming race in a seedy run down track. When racing on this level, owners, trainers, and jockeys love their horses. They get better care than a lot of humans. I often wonder if the people of PETA would turn down life saving medicine or surgical procedures if they were sick/injured. After all, those are first tested on animals....
May 5, 200818 yr And this is another reason for me to despise Tony LaRussa. :ylsuper::ylsuper::ylsuper:
May 5, 200818 yr PETA will not be happy until everyone in the world is a vegetarian....then they will form PETV.:lol:
May 5, 200818 yr PETA will not be happy until everyone in the world is a vegetarian....then they will form PETV. That is a classic, I have not heard that before.
May 5, 200818 yr I was wondering when this band of idiots would surface on this :madman:. P.E.T.A. is a bunch of radical idiots that have absolutely no idea how or why things are done other than they have figured out that they can get their sorry butts noticed every so often and be shown on T.V. , they are pathetic. I am used to slamming them and dealing with their anti hunting agenda. That is an entire other thread. My point is that I don't think that anyone takes these idiots serious, if there is anyone that does well, if it walks like, acts like, and smells like then it must be ............. I had better stop now or someone may get the idea that I don't like P.E.T.A. :sssh:. Really now, I didn't feel this at all reading your post!

After all, those are first tested on animals.... You got that right. I have been to many Thoroughbred farms, and the barns and the training centers are awesome. Being in the heart of Thoroughbred Country, we love our race horses.:thumb: I think the motto around here is; Beautiful Horses, Good Whiskey and Fast Women...
May 5, 200818 yr Probably because they lost money on the race. If the Jockey had whipped harder, they'd have more money to be annoying with.
May 5, 200818 yr I just hope PETA's extremism doesn't hinder the changes that could and should be considered: Polytrack Racing older horses banked turns - according to a friend that knows stuff about horse racing, the stress on turns, combined with the young horses is a contributing factor to breakdowns.
May 5, 200818 yr I once heard on the radio this woman from PETA who wanted free all the chickens and cows on farms. We'd end up with a predator obesity problem.
May 5, 200818 yr The problem is is that some situations PETA is really needed... This isn't one of them. By doing this like this they lose all credibility... PETA is never needed they are an extreme organization, that applies no common sense with their work.
