Isler playing summer baseball and being the apparent starting QB is nothing new for Covington Catholic. Josh Bleser did it successfully in 2006, and prior to that, I believe, Tim Grogan played summer ball and was still a pretty successful QB for the Colonels. If Zach wants to try both and can be successful at both, more power to him. God forbid we let a High School kid have fun doing what he loves.

I'd say by the next realignment following the 2010 season, Cooper WILL be in 6A. Boone County is just growing too fast.

This is huge. If CCH can get everybody on the same page coming in as freshman, instead of having to mesh kids from a lot of different systems, it will give them a jump they've not had in the past.

The win gives CCH 20 on the season which mark Coach Krumps' 21st (I believe) straight season with at least 20 victories. An amazing streak.

Keep Blake Bryan healthy and find some inside scoring to replace Stephen Love.

With Lantry, Flesch, and Howard all back, Holy Cross should be making a lot of noise next season, especially if they buy into Hans' gameplan. It turned around a St. Henry team that was in bad shape when he took over.

Neat idea, but it wouldn't really settle anything, since the 2 teams to take the field won't be the same ones that won state titles the year before. Every team loses seniors to graduation and underclassmen for different reasons.

He may not get a ton of PT at Kentucky, but his effort, determination, and scrappiness will make him a fan favorite.

He was the odds on favorite going into the season anyway. Committing to UK probably sealed the deal for him early on.

From what I have heard, when it is the 37th Districts turn to host, the regional quarter final games would be played at the district champions home gym, then the semi's and finals would be held at the Bank of KY Center, with scheduling to be worked out with the 9th region (which would have all games at the BOKC)

I too would take my chances with that 5.

It was from the open of ESPN's "The Season: Kentucky Bluegrass Basketball". I bought a copy a few years ago and watch it every now and then. If you run a search for it, I'm sure there are still copies available for purchase.

Unfortunately, that's his biggest problem in the world of DI recruiting. No doubt Arrez is a very good player, but at the big time DI schools, there isn't much demand for a 6'1 forward, and I'm not sure his ball handling skills are good enough right now to play at a guard spot.

It's been said by many in other threads, but I will say it again here; Coach L is one fine basketball coach, and an even better person.

Your comment about 2 fresh teams implies that you feel that 2 Saturday games leads to fatigue. Neither one of those teams Saturday night was tired.

Not sure why this is constantly an excuse for teams. Holmes certainly wasn't fatigued. If you look at point production, the final quarter was Holmes' best. The only quarter in which they outscored Mason (21 - 16). I'd say Holmes was in great shape down the stretch, just dug a hole early that they couldn't get out of. It may have been jitters or just bad luck, but it wasn't fatigue.

Holmes shots weren't falling, and the Bulldogs got slaughtered on the boards. Just about that simple. Congratulations to Mason County. The really were the best team in the state.

Stock Up - Class A schools. Five made the Big Show, 2 reaching the quarterfinals, and those 2 (Paintsville and Hazard) had legit shots at reaching the semis. Throw in Elliot County's dog fight with Mason and you can say the small schools represented themselves quite well. Stock down - Scheduling.....But hey, the KHSAA won't have to face this problem again in our lifetime. Easter can only possibly be 1 day earlier than it was this year, and that woun't happen for quite a long time.
