It was on the 6:00 news (WKYT).

Hate to hear Coach Hans is leaving LC. But I totally understand the move. He was still living in NKY and driving to Lexington everyday. That had to be hard.

Best of luck to him at Holy Cross.

Great hire for Holy Cross. Things looked pretty dismal last week, but now , things are looking up again. Coach Hans has a great track record and I suspect he will have the Lady Indians contending for a regional title next year. Most of this year's regional semifinalists return next year, although he did loose two starting guards.

I know the players are very excited and would love to start tomorrow.

Great hire for Holy Cross. Coach Hans is a very talented young head coach and knows the game of basketball really well. I have great respect for Coach Hans and he will do a outstanding job for Holy Cross.

At LexCath, he was contending for STATE championships every year. At HC, he'll be in a tough district every year and will contend for regional titles as well, but no postseason game will be a gimmie. A very similar situation to what he left at St. Henry to go to LexCath in the first place.

 

Seems to me LexCath has had a hard time retaining good coaches in the last half of a decade or so. I'll throw it out there, is there a problem within the administration?

I totally agree with the statement in bold. As for the admin., I can't comment. I have no clue.

Once St. Henry lost their talented senior class...he left. He walked in to a loaded LC team with a lot of talent. The last of that talent (Novosel - ND & Green - UTEP) is graduating and the LC pipeline doesn't look promising...so he left. If LC is not dominating and competing for championships the drive to Lexington probably feels even longer.

 

HC got a good coach...just keep the pipeline of talent full.

Just because Han left when the "talent was low" should in no way reflect the choices he has made to better his coaching career or family. He had a great opportunity to go to LexCath and would have gone regardless of the talent level at St. Henry. And who could blame him for coming back to northern Ky. after having to drive to Lexington every day. Just a simple solution to the drive, gas prices, and time on the road. Smart move in my opinion.

With Lantry, Flesch, and Howard all back, Holy Cross should be making a lot of noise next season, especially if they buy into Hans' gameplan. It turned around a St. Henry team that was in bad shape when he took over.

He was loved by both players and parents alike when he was at St. Henry. The girls were heartbroken when he left. HC is getting a great coach and an all around good guy.
