  1. And consider the source - some are completely unprofessional and do not realize that losses are not negative but just learning lessons and should be posted if they are posting wins. One may wonder why BGH doesn't post about BBHS boys games. Thinking the boys coach has restricted him from doing so.
  2. Guess BGH is back on the bandwagon after not posting anything about the loss to NCC. Pretty typical but we've all come to expect the "missing" summaries. Congratulations to the Lady Stangs for every game they play hard in, win or lose. They deserve a lot of credit for working hard to become the best team they can become. They represent their school very well. Wish there were others who would do the same.
  3. Seldom will you find an AD, or anyone for that matter, in administration that will support their coaches. It's much easier for them to "get rid of the problem" than have to deal with parents, when in fact the problem is the parents. The revolving door of coaches is due to the fact that administrators want to keep their jobs so if they keep the parents, school board, grandparents (ok, everyone BUT the coach) happy, then they save face. I have little respect for those who do not stand up for their principles just because they don't want to deal with conflicts. Spineless people are just that . . . . wavering in the wind to appease those who will give them the least amount of resistance. And parents quickly learn that THEY are the ones who make the decisions and not the administration. So sad to see excellent coaches give up their passion because of lack of support from the people that hired them. I don't see this changing anytime in the near future so if there's a revolving door of coaches, the first place to take a closer look at is the administration, not the coach.
  4. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is true. Parents will NEVER be satisfied and they feel they have a God-given right to oust whomever they want. Many good coaches (Turner included in this bunch) opt out of coaching by choice because of parents who complain. I always said, "Give me a team of orphans and I'll likely win a state championship." So sad that we have such spineless administrations -- seldom do they ever back up the coach. Unfortunately in this case, the next coach will already be put on the firing squad, it's just a matter of time before the guns go off. Congrats to Coach Turner and all the sacrifices she made to the program. No one should have to put up with the headaches they get from whining parents.
  5. I'm not the one posting immature comments all over this site. That would be very unprofessional, unlike some people who should certainly know better in the postion they hold. Once again, shame on you for acting in such a manner.
  6. First, I want to congratulate the Lady 'Stangs for tying for the conference title. A great feat by a very good team. But, and I know many of you are going to find this absolutley SHOCKING, BGH was inaccurate with his facts. Actually, it wasn't 1999 (where we got all the "interesting" facts of that year!) that the Lady 'Stangs last won the conference. They went undefeated in the conference in 2001 when Katie Schwegmann and the team won the Regional title. Since BGH seems to know all the facts all the time, I thought that maybe he should do a bit more work before giving his rendition of the history of a specific year.
  7. You and Wayne take some of the best pictures around. I know the athletes love to see themselves participating as well as the parents. Thank you for your unselfishness and willingness to take time out to make someone else's day just a little bit brighter.

  14. "Isn't St. Joe a feeder school for Brossart?" Well, why not ask the AD from Brossart this question - oops, the post was by the AD from Brossart so I guess I answered my own question. Does the AD not seriously know the answer to this question? Come on BigGreenHorse - why even post that question? Maybe the question should be -" WHY are St. Joe's students going to NCC if Brossart is the feeder school?"

  16. I don't put a lot of stock in stats, even the ones in the papers, because it's pretty obvious what coaches "inflate" their stats to make their team look better and thus makes them look better. I think the coaches who keep factual stats certainly know the ones who "make up" their own stats.
  17. I believe the district and regional do come out of the tournament but normally it's an expense that comes out of monies made in the district or regional. So the district winner or regional winner school doesn't have to pay for the trophy, it comes out of monies taken in from the game or games. But still, KHSAA is all about money and anything they can do to make more, they will. Why do you think they moved the state championship games to Bowling Green -- because Houchen's offered them sponsership and MONEY speaks bunches for the KHSAA. It doesn't matter where the games are at, as long as there is money to be made.
  18. I guess you are in the know or the AD is making it public, which if that is the case, I see absolutely NO reason why an AD would feel he would have to reveal how many have applied. But he seems to do it everytime there is a process of hiring a new coach so I don't know why we would expect anything different. I see no reason at all why anyone except for the AD and principal should know how many applied. But I think that goes with "tooting your own horn" again. Just seems a bit unprofessional to release information like that.
  19. If the AD didn't want him to leave then why was he telling a lot of people that HE was going to get rid of him and took credit for him leaving? I moved here about 7 years ago from Richmond so I don't know the whole history at Brossart but from what others have told me and from what I've seen myself, I don't understand how an AD can publicly make these claims to others in the community and NOT think that it will get back to those involved. Doesn't seem to be very professional on his part. And yes it does appear as if Brossart's AD loves to "toot his own horn" as you stated. Does Brossart's AD do anything else but that job? Does he teach at the school or have other duties?
  20. Ahhh, gee let me think - maybe the girls basketball coach from last year - decided in June to leave. But also heard the AD was bragging to others that he made that decision for him to leave, not the coach. Need I continue to site more examples? How many more do you need?
  21. The AD had told the girls soccer players three weeks before the season ended that he was going to replace the whole coaching staff and I know the coaches involved had no knowledge of that. Is that specific enough for you? Coach Bray resigned because of several reasons but I'm sure hearing he was going to be replaced before the season was even over had somelthing to do with his decision.
  22. Doubt that AD would even consider hiring K.E. even if he was the best choice because then the AD would have to admit he made an error in his last hire and that will not happen. Not too confident with the hiring procedure of the AD. His track record over the years has been very poor.But whomever they hire should be aware of the pattern of releasing girls coaches

  24. Ummmm, both male coaches of boys teams . . . . . . . I think the pattern that was eluded to in an earlier post was that it has been girls coaches who have either been let go or decided on their own to leave. I don't think that's just a coincidence either. One has to ask - why is this? Until that has been answered and the problem taken care of, don't expect that pattern to change any time in the future. If you rock the boat at all in girls sports at Brossart, you are displaced - not so much in boys sports.
