Last night , Shannon Turner notified her players that she had resigned as girls basketball coach at Cooper High School.

Did she get a new gig? Seems late in the year to resign.

She told the girls that she would be teaching at Walton Verona but did not mention anything about coaching.

We wish Coach Turner the best of luck!!! Always great with us!!

Best of luck to Coach Turner. Anyone know of any names that might be mentioned to fill this position? This program should be one on the upswing in the future with the right coach.

There is a good assistant coach in the district at Conner High School that we know that I think would do a great job with the position in Blake Clary if he is interested. He has done a great job at Conner and been to the last two JV regional Championships. He would be a good young coach to at least consider. Even though as you said this should be an attractive position, so I'm sure they will also get some Varsity Coaches at other programs interested in it too. Whoever gets it, will be stepping into a good situation and a chance to build something really special there. It will be interesting to see who all apply's and they hire for it.

Cooper is a nice program just waiting to happen. Good luck to Shannon!

I hope Blake Clary applies.

I hear she is one of several teachers leaving Cooper. Best wishes to Coach Turner

Pretty hard district to be successfull in. Three powerhouses you have to deal with every year.

I believe she left due to some of the childish actions of some adults in the district.

What was her record there?

It their any one on Coach Turners current staff that would be able to replace her?

I believe the only people on her staff were her dad and her sister.

I hope Blake Clary applies.

Blake would do a great job I'm sure if offered. With his connections to Conner and Coach Stamm it could really heat up the Cooper/Conner rivalry.
