I believe she left due to some of the childish actions of some adults in the district.

Just your typical moronic parents. Bad mouthing her coaching style. The problem was they were directing their comments to her children.

A lot of talent on that team. Freshman girls won it all two years ago

I didnt see alot of talent there. This is after seeing them the past 3 years.

I watched them once last year and didn't see a whole lot either. The varsity didn't have a senior on the team, so a lot of young ones got some experience. Too bad with a coaching change they are getting further behind the rest of NKY....

How quickly are the looking to hire a replacement? I would think quickly so the summer doesn't get away from them...

I don't know if what I heard tonight was true, but it sounds like some parents were meeting at each others houses trying to oust the former coach. I hope that wasn't true....especially in front of their daughters. Coaches put in so much time to try to be successful and then you have a few parents who know it all, and ruin it for everyone. Good luck to the next coach that goes there. Sounds like a headache I wouldn't want!

There are more bad jobs than there are bad coaches, and I believe the contents of the quote listed above qualifies this as a not-so-attractive job. Why? Toxic adults could be the cause. Cooper is a fairly new school with great facilities - and Coach Turner worked pretty hard and selflessly for her girls. I hope things work out for the sakes of the players, and best of luck to Coach Turner.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is true. Parents will NEVER be satisfied and they feel they have a God-given right to oust whomever they want. Many good coaches (Turner included in this bunch) opt out of coaching by choice because of parents who complain. I always said, "Give me a team of orphans and I'll likely win a state championship." So sad that we have such spineless administrations -- seldom do they ever back up the coach. Unfortunately in this case, the next coach will already be put on the firing squad, it's just a matter of time before the guns go off. Congrats to Coach Turner and all the sacrifices she made to the program. No one should have to put up with the headaches they get from whining parents.

As a parent I understand wanting good dedicated coaching but looks to me Cooper fans greatly overvalued their teams talent level. Coaches good or bad only win if they have talent. I really believe coaching may improve wins and loses by 5 or less. Talent wins games in most cases. I hope the new coach is not instantly on the hot seat, but they will be if the fans and parents honestly think they will have a 20 win season. Maybe some day after this new school gets established and accumulates more talent. But the only way it happens in the next few years is if they severely water their schedule down IMO.

In the past many coaches have resigned from pressure by either the Boosters, Administration or yes even the parents. Is there ever a time or situation when it is ok for parents to have concern and complain about a particular Coach?

Most parents like to think there kid is the next big star. When that doesnt happen its got to be someones fault. My kid doesn't get enough playing time, or my kids a better shooter it goes on and on. Spend a day at SOAS its relentless. The worst part of the entire Cooper situation is a good chunk of those varsity players are not even coming back and they still lost there coach.

Do you know if the kids not coming back are transferring? And if the kids are not coming back why would the Coach resign. Doesn't make sense to me

I don't get this. I know she was liked by the players, but why would kids not play if they love the game. Maybe they will get a good new coach. How do you know a "good chunk" are not returning?
