Why does the KHSAA send a bill for championship trophies? I know they get a bill for district champs but not sure after that. REALLY?

Maybe they should stop awarding district and regional trophies. Walk through any high school and there are more trophies than there is room to house them. My guess is that every school has a room filled with trophies they deem not worthy for display.

I believe the district and regional do come out of the tournament but normally it's an expense that comes out of monies made in the district or regional. So the district winner or regional winner school doesn't have to pay for the trophy, it comes out of monies taken in from the game or games. But still, KHSAA is all about money and anything they can do to make more, they will. Why do you think they moved the state championship games to Bowling Green -- because Houchen's offered them sponsership and MONEY speaks bunches for the KHSAA. It doesn't matter where the games are at, as long as there is money to be made.

The host school pays for the trophies if there are any given out for a playoff game. That is same as it is done during basketball season. The money for the trophies comes from the gate.

This is correct. Hosting schools will pay for trophy for district/regional winner, and compensation will be made from gate reciepts.
