Jeff Hans from LexCath coaching HC girls

With Lantry, Flesch, and Howard all back, Holy Cross should be making a lot of noise next season, especially if they buy into Hans' gameplan. It turned around a St. Henry team that was in bad shape when he took over.

Noll should be solid also

Lantry is graduating

Coach Hans will be missed at LexCath. He was always a pleasure to deal with. Good luck up at Holy Cross Coach.

Just because Han left when the "talent was low" should in no way reflect the choices he has made to better his coaching career or family. He had a great opportunity to go to LexCath and would have gone regardless of the talent level at St. Henry. And who could blame him for coming back to northern Ky. after having to drive to Lexington every day. Just a simple solution to the drive, gas prices, and time on the road. Smart move in my opinion.

Think the lack of post season success had anything to do with it? LC has very high expectations.

Once St. Henry lost their talented senior class...he left. He walked in to a loaded LC team with a lot of talent. The last of that talent (Novosel - ND & Green - UTEP) is graduating and the LC pipeline doesn't look promising...so he left. If LC is not dominating and competing for championships the drive to Lexington probably feels even longer.

HC got a good coach...just keep the pipeline of talent full.

"St. Henry lost their talented senior class... he left."

This statement is far from the truth, St. Henry was returning 4 of 5 starters and 5 of the top 7 players from the year he left.... Jeff left St. Henry for an opportunity he thought would be best for his family and career. He did not leave the program because of a lack of talent. Best of luck to him and his family, he is a great coach and a good person...

Absolutley nothing to the idea that there was a rift with the administration, or not living up to expectations as to why he left. Jeff is a class guy, and nobody wanted to see him gone. It was a family decision, as was quoted in the paper. He will be missed on a daily basis.

I've been in touch with Coach Hans today. He will be on the show on 5/3 to talk about the move and his time at LexCath and St. Henry

HJ, did you move to Lexington?

Jeff, welcome back to NKY!

Is there anyway to get access to that interview?

Sure thing. It's on the on-demand re-broadcast of the show. Go to http://www.nokysportsreport.com. On the right side of the front page, below next week's promo, is the On-Demand Re-Broadcast. It's about 15 minutes into it.

I saw the JV team playing at NKU tonight. Brian Coburn was coaching them. Can someone tell me, is he the JV coach or just filling-in for someone?

He is the JV coach at Holy Cross although, rumor has it he has applied for the St. Henry job.
