Holmes should be embarrassed. No, not for running up the score on Lloyd, but for their high pressure defense giving up 48 points to the Juggernauts. That is right at Lloyds season average. I expected more from Holmes. They better pick up the "D" if they are going to compete with Highlands and Holy Cross in the post season.

Why is it any of the MS principals business. He doesn't own the rights to your daughter. If the HS coach, AD, and Principal are fine with it, and you are fine with it, and your daughter is fine with it, screw him. He can't tell you what to do with your daughter after school hours. What if he were opposed to Girl Scouts because he wanted all of his students to belong to 4H? It's extra curricular.

For some reason you and Budman have it in your mind that Shining Stars has been slighted and that is not the case. Please go back and reread the thread. This is about the talent level of kids and where they end up playing college ball based on their talent. Geez. It's people like you who take all the fun out of message boards.

Not sure why your perception is that shots were being taken at the Shining Stars program. I think the point was that just because a player plays at NCAA DIII level that does not mean they are an inferior player or not as good as a DI player. I'm sure there are a lot of DI and DII programs that would want nothing to do with Thomas More this season. A lot goes into where a player chooses to play college ball; talent, exposure, proximity to home, choice of major. Go back and read the thread and you'll see that you are saying the same thing I am.

That's a given, thus the comparison between Neace and Kiernan. They can both walk the walk. The difference in their exposure was their AAU Teams.

So if she did, and she turned them down to go to a better academic school like TMC. Kudos to her. Still doesn't change the fact that the exposure provided by different AAU teams has different results. Look at it over time. The proof is in the pudding. It is not about talent, it's about exposure.

I'm sure they were aware of her, perhaps she just wasn't what they needed at the time. But I'm sure that if she would have been given the exposure Neace received she would have been offered a paying scholarship somewhere. Some AAU teams are just better at getting their players seen and recruited at certain levels than others. The Shining Stars do a great job of placing their kids at the NCAA DIII level. But I can't recall any Shining Stars players going on to the DI or DIi level. Cincy heat, Ky Premiere, seem to do it every year. My point is the scholarship level is more about AAU exposure than talent.

Not even close. Look at Nicole Kiernan (now playing at NCAA DIII Thomas More) and Savannah Neace (committed to play at NCAA DI Kent State). Both play the same position. Is Neace the better player because she will play DI? I say It's all about AAU and exposure. Kiernan played for the Shining Stars, while Neace played across the river for the Cincy Heat. 'Nough said.

Everyone is wondering the same thing, they are just too timid to say anything. Or they'rewondering if daddy will interfere as much at the next level as he did in hs. So please share your thoughts

So if the enrollment changed and Highlands was able to participate in the All"A", you would waive the right to participate in the softball tournament, hope Coach Richey would do the same in basketball, but if not, forbid your daughter from playing because of the terrible message it sends?

Dribble drive offense getting the ball to whoever was being defended by Tibbs or Strong and taking them to the hole or shooting outside if they sagged, and a defensive adjustment similar to a 3-2 but with the two in back sandwiching Tibbs so she couldn't get the ball and pressuring the perimeter passers so they were too flustered to pass inside on the rare occasions when Tibbs did get open. And most of all convincing their players they could do something spectacular in the second half if they all did their jobs.

Help? They didn't get any "help". The coaches went to a dribble drive offense that Dixie could not defend without fouling. Strong and Tibbs both got isolated and couldn't defend their girls off of the dribble and ultimately ended up fouling out. Give credit where credit is due, to the bearcat coaches for this and other adjustments, and to the WV players for executing it, hitting their free throws, and having the heart to come back.

One of the best halftime adjustments I've ever seen by a coaching staff. Great strategy and great job convincing the girls they could come back. Kudos to coach Clinkenbeard and Coach Trame.

I agree, and if the administrators, athletic director and coaches were on the floor, I'd say press them to death and teach them a lesson. Unfortunately they were not, some young girls were, and I don't care how you want to spin it, beating a group of young players by 82 points is uncalled for. And I stick by my earlier statement that Coach Stewart should be ashamed. She alone had the power to handle this in a better way and SHE chose not to. I had higher expectations.

So what you are saying in all of your replies is that the 87-5 score was justified in your mind. Correct?
