colonel-fan Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Sounded like it got a little heated towards the end. Nice job by the officials to keep it from getting out of hand. Great season for Paintsville and congrats to the Bulldogs. Two down, two to go.

bjknku02 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Did Painstville struggle with the Holmes defense?
Birdsfan Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 Any way to get a box score on this one? Here you go.
mexitucky Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Just got word back from my Pops in the stands. He said that Paintsville lost its composure and started getting dirty. He said that Holmes did a great job keeping their compsure. In my opinion, Paintsville's coach needs to smack down on that.
mexitucky Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Holmes has to feel pretty good about only getting 4 pts off of TOs and still beating a good team like Paintsville.
CardinalsFan Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 All you need to know from the box score: Bench Points Holmes - 24 Psville - 2 And there you have it. -CF
Baseballguy Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Henderson 0 pts in first half, 21 in the 2nd. Congrats fellas, two more.
SirMixAlot Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I got a question I saw that a kid for Paintsville had six fouls, I guess due to a technical, now if they were to win, what would happen to him the next game.
NKYSTEELERSFAN Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Congrats Holmes, bring the hardware up north boys :thumb:.
Eta Rho Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Just got off the phone with a friend who watched the game from press row. Here's is what I got from him: Paintsville is a good team but Holmes depth wore them out at the end. Slone is good but was shut down today by a combination of Henderson and R. Johnson. I believe Slone finished with just 11 points and has 2 at halftime. Offense sells tickets, defense wins games. The second half was the Arrez Henderson show. He proved why he's 9th region POY and put Holmes on his back. All 21 of his points came in the second half. Pittman played his best game of the year and if Holmes wins this thing he will be tournament MVP. Finished with 19 points and 6 boards. Not bad for a sophomore playing on the biggest stage as it gets. Paintsville is very physical but plays dirty. I was told besides the 2 technicals and 2 intentionals called on Paintsville, there could have been several others including the one where Murray hit Henderson hard as he went up for a dunk on a break away. All in all a solid win for Holmes but they will have to keep the same intensity the whole game as they did in the first quarter and second half and not take a a quarter off. If not for a nice run in the second quarter by Paintsville, where they went on a 10-4 run, Holmes runs away with this one. On to Saturday morning against Catholic, which IMO will decide the state champion.
aequitas oryx Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Bulldogs! Way to keep your composure! BTW - what were the technicals for?
