  1. You say you aren't a fan and then rattle off multiple reasons why it is better than grass. Color me confused 😕 -CardinalsFan
  2. This is absolutely the case. Tossing in the post that he lives in KY is a bomb, if true. I seriously doubt the validity of that statement. -CardinalsFan
  3. So it looks like this game has been moved to Saturday at 4 PM...assuming Holmes is completely cleared to play? May check this one out! -CardinalsFan
  4. The Bombers return 16 starters next year. -CardinalsFan
  5. St. Xavier certainly has a shot...as long as they don't play as bad as they did last week. How they have FIVE turnovers and still win is such a St. X thing to do. And as far as their schedule helping them...yeah, I guess. I think that is often times overplayed. I will take Pick Central's experience in the playoffs over the past 4 years over whoever St. X played. It will be a close game, I just see the Tigers beating the Bombers. -CardinalsFan
  6. Oh yeah...TONS of them. All but 5 are non-Division I, including one right on the edge, LaSalle, who had been Division 1 their entire history up until 7 or so years ago. In fact, the joke is that LaSalle wouldn't be what they are now without the drop to D2. When they were in D1, they were 0-8 all-time in the playoffs. They dropped to D2 and won 4 State Titles in a 6 year window (2014-16, 2019). There are only 5 Catholic Schools in Division 1, out of 64. Over the past 20 seasons (2000-2019), those 5 schools have won 70% of the Division 1 State Championships. 🤔 -CardinalsFan
  7. Nice to see that it looks like they are going to keep the format of all 4 fields basically the same with block letters in the endzone, alternating shades of green turf every 5 yards, and a school logo at the 50. Very clean look. Congrats to these Boone County high schools and a big THANK YOU to the auditor who discovered the error and single-handedly delivered over $16M to a district desperately in need of many, many upgrades. -CardinalsFan
  8. Pickerington Central has put together a very impressive run over the past 4 or 5 years. They are the defending big school champions and I fully expect them to handle St. Xavier next week. The Div2 State Semi between LaSalle and Massilion will be one of the most watched games in the state next week. -CardinalsFan
  9. I agree. The decision to start on time and end early was absolutely the right call. The big school division in Ohio only had 4 teams playing yesterday and will only have 2 playing next week. Now, the smaller divisions will play one extra week because of how many they had in the playoffs (all teams qualified) but all football will be completely finished with every team getting an opportunity to play at least 10 games before the week of Thanksgiving. I am sad to hear this is happening in the Bluegrass. These kids have worked through so much to get to the this point in the season. What an absolute shame. Hopefully they can find a way to finish it out. -CardinalsFan
  10. Does HC have a player going to Penn State?? -CardinalsFan
  11. So curious what the call was on that final play? Clearly, a young man got in to play that is a "special" circumstance as the whole team and crowd went nuts when he as introduced. I assume it was because his progress was stopped before he was stripped of the ball. -CardinalsFan
  12. This program has won 3 varsity games in 3 seasons....if they aren't energized and focused to win games then that's a coaching issue, isn't it? -CardinalsFan
  13. Great question! Unfortunately, Colerain is suffering from a once in a generation down cycle team. They are averaging 24 pts/game and haven't done that poorly since 1999. They lost 2 conference games this year for the first time in their history and are 4-2 heading into the playoffs. I can see them winning 1, possibly 2 games, but that's it really. Last year's champion, Pickerington Central (Columbus area), is the favorite to repeat. The other 3 likely come from the group of St. Edward (Cleveland), Mentor (Cleveland) and St. Xavier (Cincinnati). A dark horse candidate would be Coffman (Columbus area). Will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Overall, play in Ohio has continued it's downward trajectory in terms of quality of play. It's honestly painful to watch. I hope a resurgence will occur next year when/if things get back to "normal" but there are no guarantees. -CardinalsFan
  14. Greetings from the Buckeye State! Just thought I'd pass along what's happening up here this weekend for those of you who may be interested. Our 6-week regular season ended last week and tonight starts the playoffs for teams that "opted in". Usually teams are seeded based on our famous Harbin computer rankings but this year, coaches seeded the teams who opted in by region, by class and they are playing at their higher seed beginning tonight. For those teams that did NOT opt in to play in the post-season, they have the choice to either end their season OR they could schedule a game against another team that also opted out or otherwise had the night free. Where it gets interesting...if your favorite team loses tonight, it may NOT be the end of the season! In an effort to give as many teams a shot at 10 games, if the schools really wanted that, they are permitted to schedule up to 3 more weeks of games against teams that are out of the post-season, by loss or by choice. Will be an interesting month ahead for those of us North of the Ohio River. Best of luck to everyone in the Bluegrass on your continued seasons and hopes that everyone stays health and avoids and Covid shutdowns. -CardinalsFan
  15. Well that's gotta help, right? God Speed Indians. -CardinalsFan
  16. Can Holy Cross even field a full team this week?? Seems like they are decimated by injuries. Does McClendon make it back this week? Does it matter? Seems like Beechwood, even at 2-2, is going to have more than enough to win this contest. -CardinalsFan
  17. Thanks for the background. Much appreciated. -CardinalsFan
  18. I don't even know what OLP and LaSallette are...LOL! So, I guess we need to see how Ryle does against the big girls of St. Henry and ND before really knowing whether or not they have a legit chance to break an unbelievable streak. -CardinalsFan
  19. So....when was the last time someone not named St. Henry or Notre Dame won the 9th? Has it EVER happened?? -CardinalsFan
  20. So you do a live video broadcast of the game with live stats? And it's just you? Do you have a broadcast team with color commentary as well? How many cameras do you use? Sounds great...can't think of any other school in NKY that provides that level of live coverage, am I right? -CardinalsFan
  21. Ya gotta believe it comes down to the ability of Holy Cross to stop the run. This team, just by looking at the scores, looked like they play "defense optional" last season. If the Breds are able to run the ball the way they did last week, tough to see them not controlling the clock and winning the game going away. On the other hand, if the Indians offense can use the playmakers at their disposal like they did last week, they seem to be able to attack more aggressively and could put up big points. The offense is complex to run, difficult to defend if the plays are run correctly. Part of Holy Cross' problem the past two years is that they have been very young, I believe. I do wonder how much playing time their younger kids get. Imperative to get the talent on the field early at a school the size of Holy Cross. Is this game being broadcast anywhere? -CardinalsFan
  22. So Bellevue is terrible...right? I mean, this score has to be a bit of a shock but the outcome certainly couldn’t have been. -CardinalsFan
  23. If Trinity doesn't win this game by a MINIMUM of 5 TD's, something went terribly wrong. There are a dozen teams in Cincinnati alone that would be a better match for Trinity than Moeller. They are a shell of what they once were and haven't been relevant in almost a decade. Rocks Roll -CardinalsFan
  24. Yeah...and out state competition. Manual is on LaSalle's schedule for 9/18. If their season gets cancelled, that creates an opening for LaSalle. Crazy times. -CardinalsFan
