Did I hear this right during the championship telecast that the 9th and 10th will have their tournaments during the same time at the new arena that is being built in Alexandria for next season.

 

I heard the same thing while watching the game. Does anyone have more information?

I hope so, like to see our region rotate, and this would be a neutral floor. LONG trip for the Cards, but more fair for everyone in the long run.

I had the GM of the Bank of Kentucky Center on my show this past Saturday. The 9th Region boys and girls will be held at the arena. There has been talk of the 10th Region when it circulates to the 37th district hosting it. Nothing confirmed as of yet for the 10th.

With both the boys and girls ninth region tournaments hosted at this site, I really doubt the 10th will be able to use the facility. It could be done, but it would be harder than hard.

 

Wierd situation if you ask me.

Am shocked there hasn't been more talk about this on the boards. The announcers on the championship telecast said it was a done deal, hadn't even heard rumors of a 9th/10th region tourney in same location. Anybody know any more?

Because it won't happen for the 10th, to many problems to overcome. Travel time for southern schools, money, fans, THE FIELDHOUSE.

Actually there was talk at the regionals tourney this year that after the 08' season they will take a look at U.S Bank Arena, You know there are just as many northern schools in the 10th as south, Maybe it's time some of the southern schools make the 2 hour trip up north instead of making the northern schools go down south every year.

This is the first year out of the last 40 that Montgomery/Clark/Paris/ or Bourbon hasn't had to travel that long trip.

 

But if it's neutral then I'm for it.

Its Bank of Kentucky isn't it? I have no idea I just no the arena is named after a bank. The one they are building at NKU.
