Rogg has no Varsity experience as I understand it, but has coached a few years there at lower levels. The Rogg name is likely more familiar to you Qryche11, as there was a Rogg kid that played for them several years back that was a fairly good athlete in BB and FB. I think he transferred his sr year though. Not sure of that, but don't think he played.

Can't imagine Hicks wanting to leave Bellevue's head Coaching position to be an assistant. I think Bellevue has some talent coming up considering they are DIII

Find another Pelle and/or McCarter and/or Horstman... In all seriousness, the Grove always finds a way to be competitive in DIII...

Any info on the scrimmages this past weekend at Walton? Not sure how many games, and all the teams, but I think Walton, Dayton, and Brossart were all there.

Hire a coach if they haven'y yet done so;)

Anyone know how S. Lickerts Bulldogs are looking this year after his inaugural season as a Bulldog last year. Are the dogs buying in to his philosophy? Should be plenty of talent there this year if the heads are twisted on tightly. Good luck this year dogs!:thumb:

Maybe "dads" (and moms) should breath down the necks a little more and quit making that the teachers job......but thats for another thread.:irked:

I'm simply saying if the school is good enough for mom/dad to work at, then mom/dad should feel confident enough in that system and what they are doing at that system to want that system to educate their children. If mom/dad thinks the system is subpar, why are they teaching there (and because it's a job don't work for me, because there are teachers/administrators needed all around this state)

I'm aware of an administrator who sent their kids to the elementary school in the district whereby said administrator was employed, but when HS came around, the transfer happened. I just think if you are an administrator, you should be confident and willing to send your child to the school you are willing to have support you.....JMO

I've been told this as well. From what I hear, the "volleyball powers that be" would not agree to some of the requirements of the real "ALL A" as we know it and started by Steidel years ago. Thus, they started their own, which IMO was a mistake, because the real "ALL A" people have done a great job and are a proven thing. In addition, I've heard the "real ALL A" folks have a copyright on the name, and either have, or will be pursuing the others to quit calling their tourney the "ALL A".

Why not? If I'm a tax paying resident of Bellevue, then I'm part of the "general public", and I have a right to know! By the way, I do know!

As in on the field at 7 AM and off at noon, meaning 5 hours on the field for 1 practice? I have been around football at a few different levels and never have I seen that done. Five hours on the field not only increases chance of injury but will create burnout for a lot of kids. And then to throw another 2 hour practice on after that? As respectfully as I can be, I don't see any sense in that. Now, I have been around teams that have 7 to 12 "practice" that includes arrive at 7 meeting at 7:30 on the field at 8 off the field at 10 to 10:15ish then a half hour break and then into the weight room til roughly 12.

OK, lets just disagree because we all know there's a difference in facts and excuses. After reading all your posts, I'm surprised you take that stance. Holmes has how many district/regional championships? Silver Grove, Bellevue, Dayton, Walton, Villa etc. etc. etc. have how many? Whats the common denominator? Simple, it's school size/participants, not quality of coaches plain and simple!

If Ludlow does anything will be more about the fact that they have a lengthy defense rather than a potent offense. They have Williamson coming back who is as good as any player in the conference when he is playing smart and motivated. Shelton came on last year as a bit of a shooter and a guy that can pick up garbage buckets, but to be a factor in the offense he is going to be challenged to put the ball on the ground. Teams tended to let him get away with opens jumpshots, not anymore.

Will coach Smith also be coaching at the Grove? Who's going to coach the Tigers?

C'mon LN.......I don't think you're thinking this through. SGrove comes to mind. When they had players, they won. When Brossart had players, they won. Some schools simply don't have "players" they have bodies, and no matter what the coach does, you can't get milk from a turnip. Your point may better apply to larger schools than smaller, however, because at least the bigger schools have better odds of having "players" to develop as opposed to "bodies" to put on the court.

Can't we come to an agreement that winning alone does not qualify one as the "best coach"? Both are good guys and good coaches, but somewhere along the lines, we need to recognize that some good coaches have less talent and some lesser talented coaches have better players (that doesn't mean Listerman, Henley, Fausz and others are lesser talented coaches....just making a point):irked:

Thats an understatement... Its good to see him recognized. As has been said, great player, great person. One of two players to have their numbers retired in Dayton history. Generally a "legend" in that small town. Walk into any random place in that city and mention "Skirvin" and the odds are someone will buy you a drink if you listen to whatever particular "Skirvin" story they have. Congrats to Skirv...
