Is Bill Rogg the new Dayton head Coach?

Featured Replies

Anyone?

And, what can you tell us about Coach Rogg?

Confirmed with the same source that told me about the applicants. Congrats to Coach Rogg.

He was the freshman coach down there for a few years. Didnt have a whole lot to work with on that level.

Quite frankly I'm a little surprised by this. But it makes sense. He knows the game and will be dedicated to those kids. Also have heard he was kinda the "people's choice" among the city.

Administration had to decide Dayton guy or not, said yes so it eliminated Menifee. So then came down to Walls, Dilts or Rogg. Walls had the previous head coaching experience, but recently left Dayton football. Curious. Couldn't have helped his case. Got to think he'll continue to coach with Scott. Nate Dilts was probably hurt by his connection to his dad, as maybe they just wanted a different direction. Seemed like he was very active on the bench, but like I said, very possible the administration just wanted someone with new ideas. Also is still a young coach. Wouldn't be surprised if he is on staff, or coaching elsewhere in NKY.

So in a way seems like they get the best of both worlds. A guy that was involved enough to know the program and situation and can provide continuity but can also implement some new ideas. Good for him. The only thing I question is simply it doesnt seem to me he coached a ton of games. But what I've seen and heard he's a solid guy.

Congrats and good luck to Coach Rogg and the Greendevils.

Congrats to Coach Rogg!

Congrats to Coach Rogg. The other coach that interviewed was Coach Lockwood an assistant coach from Walnut Hills in Cincinnati.

Thanks for adding all the information ESPN.

Congrats to Coach Rogg. When did Bill Rogg attend Dayton? The name is common in that area.

Who is Bill Rogg? I don't know the name, does he have varsity experience?

Rogg has no Varsity experience as I understand it, but has coached a few years there at lower levels. The Rogg name is likely more familiar to you Qryche11, as there was a Rogg kid that played for them several years back that was a fairly good athlete in BB and FB. I think he transferred his sr year though. Not sure of that, but don't think he played.

I've known him for several years but have never been real close to him. His grandparents attended church where my father preached, so I saw him semi-regularly. He is only in his mid to late twenties, but is a good person who will treat the kids right. Its good to see local dayton boys grow up and be successful. Generally speaking they get beat down (not literally) a lot.
