  1. Please......somebody....anybody. No disrespect to Newports girls, but on the surface, this certainly seems to be a step backward. Is it $ related? Has he ever been a girls coach? Which leads to the next question.........who will be candidates for this position? Will Swauger return and dust off the clipboard?
  2. Saw on the KDE website that Bellevue is seeking a head coach. Anyone know anything about that one? This will be about 5 coaches the past 7 years or so for this small school if I'm not mistaken:eek:
  3. Upon review of the draft, I am wondering why the Blazers traded their secondary picks after Bayless. They are a good on the rise team, but there wouldn't be many teams lining up to play them if they had the current roster of Roy and Co. and then added Bayless, Oden, Darrell Arthur, and Joey Dorsey. I would've made sense to me to hang onto those guys...
  4. I'm not GT, but personally I think no way... Don't think Love is athletic enough. Lopez won't be a star but is 7ft can run, has defensive potential, and a decent back to basket offensive game. Don't think he'll be a star, but solid...
  5. He backed off those trade demands. Showed up and played ball with what was around him. Maybe he wasn't happy, but it's not like he went all Chad Johnson on them...
  6. I don't know... He was fine in Toronto until they let McGrady go. He was fine in NJ until they let Kidd go, and he even got over that, and then they let Jefferson go. If he wants to be surrounded by great players what makes him any different than any other player in the league...
  7. Yeah, but that trade indicates that the Sonics want Mayo. If he is gone they think they can get one of their secondary targets, apparently Lopez or Bayless, at 7.
  8. Don't really understand it... Jefferson and Redd might be good but I don't think it gives them a shot at a championship. And now Vince will want out of NJ...
  9. I don't disagree, but there are a lot of morally wrong things that athletes do every day. Maybe he filmed it and he shouldn't have, but is that anymore wrong than one of the guys that is underage drinking at a party? Both wrong morally, but this isn't Utopia. People do stupid things. Especially young people in a college setting. We can't outlaw any athlete that ever did something immoral...
  10. I didn't think X would be in play much for Crawford because of their number of scholarships available...
  11. Really? A couple times in those finals I thought he and Karl Malone were about one more elbow from throwin' down...
  12. The logic that hdtwc was using was he has some pop and can bat from the right side of the plate. What he didn't think about, as stated, was Alonso...
  13. Probably disappoints Cleveland as I heard they were making big push for O'Neal.
  14. Right now the association is looking a lot more like a guard oriented league than a big man oriented league... However, I don't really think they can go wrong with the pick. There will be critics no matter who it is you decide to take...
  15. Position filled.........seems they got one from right in their own back yard with Dayton ties. Troy Clifton teaches in the system, and while no varsity experience, I believe I heard he does have experience at the Boys MS level, he is a former DHS standout who actually played for current boys coach Tom Dilts some years back, and an overall good guy. Hopefully, he can "right the ship" on the girls side, as it appears the boys program is headed in the right direction, and the girls program has lots of potential for that small school as well.
  16. George Grande and Chris Welsh :creepy:
  17. Van Pelt is a good SC caster. I think my avatar requires me to say Stu Scott, but I know a lot of ppl hate him. Kenny Mayne is funny. I've always thought Michael Smith knows pretty much what he's talking about especially when it comes to NFL. Of course there is Vitale, unmatched enthusiam and love for the sport he covers. Harold Reynold knows the game. Used to like watchin him do LLWS. A guy that is more a writer but ESPN has him on every once in a blue moon is a guy named Scoop Jackson. He knows his stuff and is very different and "new."
  18. Hank Steinbrenner just called, and he is voting against the NL...
  19. There are a number of decent pitchers on that list... Sabathia is going to get outrageous cash. Dempster is making himself a lot of money this year. Lowe is the kind of pitcher that I think could have good seasons in GABP. Oliver Perez has flashed potential. Ben Sheets is good but a little injury prone. Looks like a decently deep SS crop too...
  20. Thats what I was thinking...
  21. Biggest thrill in my life? Are we talkin' like what gets the adrenaline going more than any life experience? If that's what were talkin' about, I'll say crowding around the locker room door and listening to the roar of the fans and the band as you wait to enter the field for a game against your rival. Also, warming up and waiting for your name to be called in the starting lineups before rivalry basketball games. These things used to make me feel like my heart was nearly coming through my chest...
  22. How bout the 2003 NBA draft. The first four Americans taken in that draft are on this team.
  23. Pierce was the only one of the three on the roster of something like 40 guys. Personally, I think that KG would have been a good addition because of his height and ability to hit the midrange jumper. Not to mention defensive abilities. Allen would have also helped with the 3 point shooting. Pierce is too much like the othere guys that already had spots locked up. Dwayne Wade will be the designated "6th man." And while there is no doubt in my mind if I was starting an NBA team I would choose Paul over Deron Williams, the international game sometimes favors bigger stronger guards with some muscle to them. Paul was exposed in that sense in his first go round in the international game. I too, think that this team should win any tournament it is entered in...
