What does anyone know about Transy's team camp?

The loss of Housley at Newport just dealt a minor blow to Newport's chances in the 9th.

Currently reading Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich. If you saw the recent movie 21, this book was the basis for that movie. It's a true story about a bunch of MIT college students using their smarts to beat the house an make large profits of money by studying blackjack basic strategy, counting cards, and working together.

FWIW, Patterson is hitting .409 in his 5 games for the Bats. The other two guys on the 40 man that are outfielders in Louisville are hitting as stated above .253 and a robust .232. If they wanted to bring Cabrera up they would have to put him on the 40 man and I think replacing Freel's speed and hustle is more important than the bat at this point. Now as long as Dusty can hide his urge to put Patterson in the lineup I think it's the right move...

It would be quite interesting to see Rose and Beasley both playing for Miami... Might make Marion want to stay too...

Georgetown's team camp is top notch. Tons of games, good competition, a lot of divisions, etc. etc. etc.

This is not good news for Holmes opponents. While Housely might not have the impact that he would have at Newport, he still may be considered on of the top 10 juniors in the region going into next year and his game seems like the type that would fit well into Holmes system.

Heard from an extremely reliable source that he has been withdrawn from Newport and will not return for next season. Haven't heard anything else about the matter. Anyone else have any information on this?

That would be great, but on the roadtrip I could take because it would be a great improvement over prior roadtrips...

I think this is just as good an option as Fogg, and makes more sense than Maloney and Pettyjohn because they aren't on the 40 man, and Thompson just got promoted from AA and I have heard that he only has 2 real reliable pitches...

Judging by the fact that they put Pierce on Lebron, I would think they would put Pierce on Kobe. But that takes a lot of energy so if they were to get there and they were to do that Allen would have to produce points more consistantly...

Now, at the start of the playoffs I wouldn't have thought about posting a thread with this title, but someone posted in the other thread an extremely valid point. The Lakers just rolled through the best conference the NBA has ever seen, and did it while only losing 3 games. The have an all star post, a third scoring option that has been playing the best ball of his career, a couple designated sharpshooters, a heady vetran point, reserves that would start for most teams, and oh yeah, the best player in the NBA. And they play defense. All season it has looked like the C's and Piston's were the best in the league, but it is really hard to see anyone beating the Lakers 4 games the way they are playing now. The only thing I think that could hurt them is the long layover until the finals. What do you think?

They should have given the ball to Bray to start the inning when they were up 9-7 and kept Fogg out in the pen in case Bray didn't nail it down...

So if he gets offered an NBA contract, can he leave that?

The thought ran through my mind that they should have held Harang back a day and pitched Fogg today, Harang tomorrow, Volquez Saturday, Belisle Sunday, Arroyo again Monday, and then take Fogg back out of the rotation...

While I still think that they did what they had to do on Sunday, I am scheduled to go to the game tomorrow night and am pretty nervous now...
