  1. Yes because ROY should definately be based off of popularity.
  2. A few weeks back Soto was supposedly the unquestioned leader for rookie of the year...
  3. So last week, me and a few other people were in a conversation, something to do with sports. At this point, conversation had drifted to high school basketball and recruiting, etc. Someone said something and I corrected them. At this point a buddy of mine sarcastically says "Sorry man, we all don't sit around memorizing all good recruits names and everything else in our free time." Or something to that nature. And then yesterday comes. With another group of people. Same guy is there. I said something like "Better get going, it looks like there is going to be a storm." This same guy that ridiculed me for knowing some random sports knowledge says "That storm isn't going to hit us. It's gonna hit west of here. Don't you ever watch the weather channel?" Does anyone else see the irony?
  4. Garnett probably was hitting the open man in green. I don't think he thinks "Oh no Rajon won't be able to hit this." He just probably hit the open man...
  5. It looks pretty simple to me... Everybody is good at home and everyone sucks on the road, so pretty much it's about how good you are at home.
  6. I didn't read the whole thread, but to me, the biggest problem is that it is summer ball. I don't have a problem when someone says something that is true. JMO...
  7. Even so... A lot of guys don't debut til around that age... (25) Phillips has improved since we got him...
  8. People forget but isn't Edwin only 24? I don't disagree with those 5 but I put Phillips in the same category as Encarnacion. He's only 26.
  9. I'll play the devils advocate here. I witnessed an "ugly" situation last week where a situation at a "camp" game almost got out of control, and one of the coaches went onto the court to keep peace due to an official not making a call creating a large "pileup" in the middle of the court. Here it is.....loose ball, numerous opportunities to blow the whistle and call a jump ball, but nothing from the official resulting in a 9 or 10 player pileup with tempers flaring. Smart thing to do was simply blow the whistle (even if it became an inadvertant whistle), which would have resulted in play stoppage as opposed to a fumble like situation in which someone potentially could have been injured. In that case, shame on the official for NOT recognizing the importance or lack thereof of a "camp" game, and allowing a potential bad situation. I commend the coach for approaching the official in this situation and schooling him on the purpose of camps, which is certainly not to get kids hurt needlessly. My point......I respect the officials, but they too need to realize their role in summer camp games and not "official" league games.
  10. I thought he was the one hoping to stick around Holmes long enough to take that job.
  11. Thats what I was thinking looking at this... Are we doing this to win it all right now or be a force for the next decade?
  12. If the Celts have Perkins will have a big effect on game 6...
  13. I just thought the ending was dumb... I don't think it was bad, kinda scary... Makes you think a little...
  14. Didn't look like Garnett was having too solid a night. If I was the Celtics I would worry that to me, the Lakers still haven't played a really solid game. If they put that one together for game six then you go to game 7 with no momentum at all...
  15. Any updates on this one??????? I think they have several returning starters, but are wasting away their summer possibilities. Administration needs to right that ship quickly! Once again....who suffers when they drag their feet?
  16. I didn't think NC had a JV team down there. Dayton had one, but only had about 6 kids and was told they are all freshmen to be. Apparently they had one freshman to be and one sophomore to be playing with the varsity.
  17. St. Henry's JV lost in the first round to Central Hardin.
  18. Yeah, forgive we Reds fans for wanting the management to make the move that is in the best interest of the club. Cincinnati fans appreciated Griffey, he just makes to much for his production at the moment, and his career in Cincy has been frustrating for both parties.
  19. I don't remember them all but from memory: West Alex Hall-Beechwood Todd Krohman-Boone Jared Rouse-Ludlow Luke Mace-Dixie Josh Craddock-Lloyd Erik Thomas-Conner East Nic Simpson- Highlands Greg McGraw- Highlands Joe Prusinowski- Calvary Dustin Giesler- NCC Ryan Brownfield- Dayton Chris Young- Dayton Steven Pelle- Silver Grove There were more for each team...
  20. Doesn't look like he has anything to back that up though. Looks like a shot in the dark...
  21. I heard they have a kid that is supposed to be pretty good named Gish... (sp?)
