Just received a text from one of my kids that Kevin Listerman has been named the Head Basketball Coach at Highlands High School.

Congratulations to Coach Listerman. highlands is getting a great coach/ person to lead their basketball program. If there is anyone who can get Ft. Thomas excited about basketball, it is Kevin Listerman.

It is my understanding the latter, but time will tell. Nice work by Dale and the committee. IMO this is a strong hire.

I am certain that Kevin interviewed well and would be a great addition to the faculty. Now Dale and Kevin can have a conversation about science subject matter and then I might have to go through Nieporte to get the readers digest version LOL.

 

I am very excited about the hire and would suspect that the kids will respond well to his energy and enthusiasm. A teacher in the building and a player that had a relentless work ethic. When Kevin played you didn't say look at that talent. He worked at his craft and most importantly set the example. Good luck coach!

Congrats Coach Listerman and the Bluebirds. I wonder if Hicks or Menefee will want to be assistants under the new coach.

Kevin will bring intensity and intelligence to this program and to the classroom. He was hired because he was the complete package, teacher/coach. All the attention whether it be negative/positive, we're all talking about HHS basketball right now. I think Hunt was good with the kids but was better working to develop the younger players. Hunt is not a teacher. When you can hire a teacher that is a coach, you are making an investment, not only in your academics but in your future. It tells kids, "this guy was willing to change his career to come here and teach." Not only teach, but coach at the same school the he was so hated while on the very court he will call home for the years to come. I think he is brave. I went to NKU with him and had classes with him. He is well spoken and a great student of the game. I wish him nothing but luck and he has even inspired me to come to some games this year.

I'm very happy for Coach Kevin Listerman and glad that he's back in NKY as a Head Coach. I wish him nothing but success and am very much reminded of my senior year right now playing for him. These kids are in for a treat!
