I too, was impressed by the hustle of everyone. The tenacity of BB & Weyer was nice. it was Hebel in the middle getting boards. Saw some quality bball moves by Hergott & Harris, the speed of Greene and that bounce pass from 40 feet out was the "Play of the Day" for me. The pass from Greene to Hergott(?) was in transition following a defensive stop and a time out by Coach Listerman after Ryle had cut it to 8. It was the beginning of a 15-5 run to end the game. If I remember it correctly. The finger roll by Harris from the right side late was sweet. Many high points for the Birds IMO. You can tell it's different.

 

 

 

 

Hoge, Houliston and True will certainly be main cogs this season. Impressed with the play of Hergott, Greene, Brockett and Buten last night. Seems like they are buying into what the coach is trying to get across. Parker Harris played very well in the 2nd game and scored in a variety of ways. Coach really only had 8 guys playing last night and some were definitely a little more tired than others given the heat of the gym, but then again that is how you get better.

Out of the half court sets, I thought Harris did a fantastic job of finding good looks for his teammates last year. Look forward to seeing the basketball birds under the new system.

How did the Birds do in their scrimmage with Beechwood last night?

Did not scrimmage Beechwood last night because they play them on Friday at Holmes. JV played amongst themselves and then a group of recent graduates from Colerain came over and played. Triple header tomorrow night at Campbell County with the Camels and Dixie Colonels.

Anybody can comment on last night scrimmages at HHS? How the teams look? Stinky or JOAT did you catch the action?

 

Didn't think they played basketball at highlands. Thought ole dale shut the program down due to lack of sucess and no future.:lol2:

Now that is funny. Not. Highlands will be much improved this year from a competitive standpoint. Will they win more games, only time will tell on that one. Love how some on this site have nothing better to do than get on here and bash other programs.

HHS basketball has never won less than 10 games in a year for as long as I can remember. They may not be competing for Ninth Region championships in this cycle, but not a group of boys to be laughed at as your post suggests.

 

Coach Listerman still has the group working hard a few days a week even with the majority of next seasons varsity ramping it up on the football field.
