The Greendevils completed the sweep of the Tigers last night at Dayton. I have watched the Tigers play in both of these contests, and have seen Dayton a few more times this season. The reason I wanted to post this thread is to discuss the job Ron Kinmon and Jim Hicks are doing with these kids. Ron Kinmon has been able to get his kids to work together, share the ball, and play some very competitive minutes. They do not have the talent, size, or depth to play with the better teams in the area, but they are entertaining to watch and it has been great to watch their team improve. Jim Hicks is getting the absolute most out of his kids. An extremely young and smallish team with very little depth would best describe the Tigers. Jim puts them in a position to have the most success possible. They create open looks for each other by executing the sets that Coach Hicks has taught them. They are a fun little group to watch. Congrats to both coaches on doing a wonderful job with your teams.

Buten was out with hamstring injury. Should be ready to go next week I’m going with great effort tonight by the Birds.

Two really nice scrimmages to get ready for the season. Knoxville Catholic in a Saturday bowl game. Playing - 6A Northern KY schools. Boyle on the road. Covington Catholic at home again this year with the new district set-up. Impressive and challenging week after week.

With the district realignment and the changes to N KY 5A - CovCath will travel to Fort Thomas again next year for the regular season match-up.

Was able to watch the 2nd half on a facebook feed from Marshall County. Marshall used a diamond and one to try and stop Allen. He scored his points in the second half in transition. Monroe and Sullivan hit 3 - three's between them in the fourth to open the lead. Marshall was very patient on offense which led to the low score total. Allen with 25 and 21. Fouled out with seconds left in the game - played a lot of minutes in the 4th with 4 fouls.

The best team SK has played this year is probably Highlands. Scott County has played Highlands, Frederick Douglas twice, Moeller, and LaSalle. The stats that are being compared on here were obtained versus very different strengths of schedule.

Madison Southern had a largest offensive line I have ever seen in high school football. At times they lined up 7 across. Had to average over 300 pounds a man. I was impressed that they moved pretty well also. HHS was just too skilled for this game to be anything but a running clock.
