Sorry for quoting myself, but I found my own answer by using the search button. BGP All State Basketball Teams are listed with POY and the balance of the team in alphabetical order.

I'm certainly not advocating a cover up. But anytime you rank people or teams it is subjective. Not all year end teams rank the individual players. Does the BGP all state team get ranked or is just a list of players?

The NKBBBA should have listed player of the year and the rest of the members of the team in alphabetical order. Why the need to rank the players? A simple alphabetical listing of the balance of the team avoids all this banter. Would anyone have objected to: McNeil - POY Bertsch, Bradfield, Frederick, ..........etc...

So many on here get caught up on the "D-I" tag. Bellarmine is D-II but plays at a very high level. Currently ranked #1 in the Midwest in the latest poll and #4 nationally. Their roster is full of DI type talent and a lot of it is from KY. The X factor in all of this is how well the staff at Bellarmine does in recruiting these kids. They make the kids feel special, making the kids want to be a part of a highly successful national program. Sean McNeil is an excellent basketball player and made a great choice. I'm sure he could have held out and eventually been recruited and played in the MAC or OVC - then beat his chest as a D-I signee. I gather that's not his style and he will be much happier helping the Knights build on their recent successes.

Love to resurrect these threads each year. The participants from 2014 tourney are this years seniors.

With the way the CovCath fan base travels, I think the gym will be full. There will be additional seating in the cafeteria and the game shown on a feed to those TV's. The HHS gym is much nicer than in the past. Renovations done 2 years ago have improved the experience. Less seating though as aisles with handrails on both sides and the seats do not infringe on the court as they did in the past. More room between row 1 and court. Get there by the JV game to get a seat in the gym.

I'm confused. What was the Holmes game plan that resulted in a 37 point loss? How does it help HHS keep it close?

Thanks BirdBrain In the game in question, Campbell County shot the free throws. There was then a jump ball. Not sure if it was written down for a personal foul for the Highlands player. Pretty sure it was not counted as a team foul. Coach did not sit the whole game. BTW, did I mention this was before the frosh game.

Two shots for the opposing team to start the game. Is there a jump ball or does opponent get possession? Is it a bench technical assessed to the head coach or is it on the player? Does it count as a personal foul also? Saw this happen earlier in the week and wondered if it was administered properly

HHS won the frosh game and Campbell won the JV game.

Original schedule had 4 games each day for the 3 day tournament. What happened? Scoreboard shows all 4 games played on day one, only 3 games on day two and just 2 games yesterday.

Cooper or CovCath represent the East in 3A in this setup.

This question and thread took me back about 11 months or so. Check out the Simon Kenton 41 Ryle 23 thread from November 13, 2015 and you'll see some familiar posters that knew a lot more than the Ryle coaches last year. Ironic.

Who threw the TD and 2 pt conversion for HHS. JV QB's are Kramer and Schoellman - no Turner that I know of.

Observations....... HHS did make some changes defensively in the second half. Taylor did move to outside backer. Bowden was moved inside. New played at safety. Grothaus played a bit more at corner. Now the moves did not slow the Colonels down much, but they did get some film to evaluate and maybe make further changes. No two way players as was rumored to be happening. Maybe seeing the success CCH has with this system will help the coaches to pull the trigger on that one. Game plan early on was to huddle and take time off the clock (completely contrary to the hurry up/wear 'em out 2 platoon system that is in place)- which was abandoned after CCH opened up the big lead. HHS actually scored 20 unanswered at one point of the game. HHS was down 35-0 at the 10 minute mark of the 2nd quarter. Final 34 minutes of game action was 28-26 Colonels. This is the same coaching staff that has a state championship, and a semi-finals appearance. Playoff coaching record is 8-1. Time to show the all of us that you can get the best out of this group of boys. Here's to a rematch in Park Hills in 4 weeks.

HHS has 4 boys that are first team O and first team D. Schwalbach and MCGuire (both injured) would make that number 6. Five other boys play a lot of snaps on both side of the ball, as one way starter and rotate in at their alternate position. About 22-24 boys rotate in during a game for the Birds.
