Highlands had the game in their hands with 3 min left up 15-12 on CovCath 15 yard line. 3rd and 1 and they decided to try a hard count and draw the Colonels offside. Didnt work, Center snaps ball inadvertly and Birds lose 7 yards. Now its 4th and 8 and the Colonels stuffed em.

 

Cov Cath drives with just over a minute left to take the lead with 30 seconds. Bug play was a long completion to #17 to get them within a yard.

 

Outside of some questionable plays it was a great back and forth game.

CCH is stacked in the Frosh and Soph class. McGinness and Coldiron(both Sophs) are outstanding on Varsity; amongst others.

Luke Lenihan who has never before played High School Football before this year.

It's nice to see Luke Lenihan on the football field. Super athlete...better young man.

I saw most of the first half. Teams looked pretty even to me.

A hard count in that situation is pretty standard. Not sure I would call it a questionable call. The players know their role. Mistakes happen.

3rd and 1 at the 10 of the other team. You get the first down and end the game. Covcath had 1 timeout left. Get the first game over! That easy.

They were getting 5yds a pop on that drive. 1yd is all it took.
