Love the Lyons comp but a more recent comparison might be David Bouvier from LexCath. Cash is larger, 5’11”, 185 to 5’9’, 165 according to the last rostering that I could find. Grew to be a crowd favorite, sure handed receiver.

Timing is everything. If last Friday’s game had been in week three, there’s very little discussion about his chances. I hope the voters take that into consideration.

Congratulations to Somerset on the win. congratulations to Prestonsburg on a terrific season. Way to get things turned around. Keep it moving in the right direction next season!

1993…Prestonsburg goes to Danville, on a damp, muddy night and takes down the Admirals. Ends the Ads 42 game win streak. (Congrats to this year’s Blackcat team, great turnaround) 1974…Middlesboro travels to Boyd County and beats the HIGHLY regarded and number one ranked, Lions in the Class AA playoffs. The coldest game that I have ever attended, which includes the Dec 1, 2006 state finals. and tonight’s game…Colonels win over Boyle County. In no particular order, all three were great games!

While I am more aligned with the 9th region, my brother is heavily involved with the 15th. He explained it to me yesterday how the “play in” would take place. It took pen and paper for me to follow???. My understanding is two of the four districts only have three participating teams, which led to the “super regional” idea. Two lucky loser teams advance by way of a blind draw to a quarterfinal format. The four remaining teams are drawn into the quarter with the two district championship game losers filling in the final two spots. The four winners of the quarter final bracket will be the district losers for the regional draw. Once again ….????. This format could produce three teams from the same district in the regional tournament. Same district teams COULD meet in the semis, and then in the finals.

I had it explained to me today…required visual help. *a possibility that one district could have three teams in the regional tourney.

Grew up in that gym….mom would drop me off and come back to pick up …I was 8….gym savvy! Regional tournaments there were incredible! cannot think of a better environment for high school basketball!

I was asked by a radio show to give my high and college football rankings, weekly beginning this week. I had to do some research, not as statewide knowledgeable as I once was. I liked Lloyd as my #10 team, two wins over bigger schools and two losses by a total of two points. I am a Middlesboro grad but I didn’t like their wins as well as I did Lloyd’s.

To add to your comment on the officiating…did Dixie get the benefit of 4 timeouts in the second half?

I saw the OL get beaten one one one several times. But yelled, “get rid of the ball” to the QB a few times, as well. Lots of “do better” to go around. Colonels lack of speed is a bit concerning. A couple could be pointed out to be playing out of position. Gotta do what ya gotta do though. The pass play under three minutes when QB was sacked for a big loss is still questionable to me. Never the less, going to Pikeville and getting a win is solid!

Why were the Colonels even thinking about passing the ball? Crazy
