Shawn Hager has been tabbed as new coach of the Black Cats. Hager was most recently the head football coach at Floyd Central from 2017-2024, he will now move to the hardwood. 

Hager was a assistant football coach under Jim Matney at Sheldon Clark and took over the football program at Sheldon Clark in 2004 when Matney left to take the Johnson Central job. He left Sheldon Clark to take over as head baseball coach at Prestonsburg in 2015, and was became an assistant football coach and assistant boys basketball coach for the Blackcats. He left in 2017 to take the head football coaching job at Floyd Central.

There can't be many folks in the past 50 years that can claim they were the Head Coach of a Varsity Football, Varsity Basketball and Varsity Baseball team in their career. Can there?
