Is the size of Rupp daunting for shooters? Advantage to regional winners that play in collegiate arenas? 

I’ll guess Covington Catholic, 9th region at NKU.

And hope it’s not Ashland, 16th at Morehead.

Statistically speaking, I'd say that's a pretty good guess.

This is where the 13th region is played at the Corbin Arena. It might as well be a college facility because it's bigger than many.

✓ To answer the first question in @Hat Trick's opening post - maybe. Sweet 16 opening round nerves may play as big a role, as only three teams - GRC, Pikeville, and Muhlenberg Co. were at Rupp last year. Teams are going to run up against better defenses at this point of the season too, yes? What other factors would effect shooting performances? A strong inside game, etc.

✓ Sidebar - The "KHSAA Scoreboard Era" dates back to the 1997/98 season. Related to today's shooting woes:

The Day 1 total for points scored by all 8 teams was 375. That's the lowest total in the last 24 years. It tied the "era" record low for the 4 winning teams, 215 points in 2007. The 160 points scored by the 4 losing teams is second fewest, next to the 155 points of 2012. 

? Nobody really broke in the rims at Rupp for the Day 2 teams.
