I'm going with Sacred Heart because of records and strength of schedule.

I've got to go with Catholic on this one due to strength of schedules. But, I will say that if Russell is able to keep the time of possession close that they can make a game of it because the do have a trio of girls capable of scoring.

Central plays too many local teams and their strength of schedule is the basis of my prediction.

This is a hard one. I don't know much about either team and they have no common opponents. I do know a little about some of their opponents so I'll go out on that limb and say that Central Hardin will prevail by a couple of goals.

I think that this game has the potential to be a blowout win for Highlands.

Well I tried to get discussion, I really did. Just like I said an all 43rd district final?. Should be a real treat to watch these two teams in the championship game. Good luck to Dunbar and Lexington Catholic. Either of you will represent the 11th region well.

Never let it be said that I'm not one to go out on a limb. So, here goes, I'm calling it. The 11th region will be an all 42 district final.

Region after last night. I know this statement may cause some disagreement but before the districts I thought there were 5 teams capable of winning the 11th region and my 4 most likely are still in contention with Douglass eliminating the other one last night.

Frederick Douglass wins 3-2 over Great Crossing. Great Crossing took a first half 2-0 lead before Douglass managed to make it a 2-1 game at the half. Douglass did what they had to tonight but were unable to score out of their regular offense. Two goals were the result of corner kicks and one with the assist of a 40 yard free kick. I'm not knocking how they scored because you win games scoring that way but they need to get their offense running more smoothly.

Okay, I'm going to make my first round predictions. So, here goes: Dunbar over Madison Southern Henry Clay over Frankfort Frederick Douglass over Great Crossing Lexington Catholic over Madison Central I realize big upsets do occasionally happen and I'm all but certain on three of the games but the only prediction I'm concerned about would be the Great Crossing vs Frederick Douglass match up. Although Douglass won the regular season match up 1-0, offensively they have not worked the kinks out since the late season injury of one of their leading scorers and they have yet to settle in and play with confidence. I guess what I'm saying is that I won't be surprised whichever team wins this one. Anyone else have any thoughts on the Great Crossing vs Frederick Douglas game?

Henry Clay went up 2-0 in the first half and managed to hold on for a 3-2 win in the 42nd District championship game played at Henry Clay. Congratulations to both teams as they prepare for their 11th region tournament.

With Douglass winning against Sayre 3-0 and Henry Clay winning 5-0 against Bryan Station, tomorrow night's final is set. It's a rematch of last year's District 42 final which Douglass won 1-0. Neither Clay nor Douglass impressed me tonight, although I'll give the nod to Clay if I were only going by tonight's performance. Clay came of strong and scored 3 goals in the first eight minutes of the game and then cooled off considerably. I think that Douglass has an issue with an injury of a starting striker. I saw her go down early in the game last week against Lafayette and she didn't return and she didn't play tonight. It appeared to be a knee injury. Hopefully tonight's game was the result of adjustments to the lineup and their offense can get back on track tomorrow night.

Sayre managed to make it an ugly game keeping it close but Douglass still comes away with the win and moves on to the finals.

Looks like tonight's match up between Douglas and Sayre at Henry Clay has been postponed until tomorrow at 6:15pm because of weather. This gives an opportunity to make predictions on who will advance on to the 11th region. There's a big gap below the top two teams. I know anything can happen and that's why they play the games but I will have to go with Douglass winning and Henry Clay as runner up but I'm pretty sure that will be a very good district final game.

I think that I agree with everything that you said. I'd much rather a team have the scoring and assists spread out among several team members. What caused me to purpose this thread was looking at the Frederick Douglass stats and I quickly realized that they were not in any statistical category except the following three: Team Shutouts with 14 in twenty-one games which earned them 3rd in the state behind two other teams with 14 shutouts but in eighteen games. Team Defense at 6th allowing 0.7 points per game. Team Scoring Margin at 27th with a margin of 2.7 goals.

My pick will have to be Goalkeeper saves.

Sayre wins by a score of 2-1 and will play Douglass tomorrow night at 8pm. My only question is will the mercy rule apply to tomorrow nights game. This was a difficult game to watch.
