  1. Scoring for Douglass: Merryweather assist H. Flynn. H. Flynn assist Merryweather. King unassisted.
  2. Individual scoring for Douglass: Newland scored at 5:55 into the first half off a well placed corner kick by Daley. Majors scored at 8:56 into the first half off a pass from Hayden. Remaining 51 minutes was Douglass mostly on the attack and Ballard defending and no further scoring.
  3. Watched the last half of the game. It was a very interesting, hard fought game. A high intensity rivalry for sure. Thanks for posting the link to the game.

Okay, I sent a request to the owner of the Corbin yearbook for pictures so that I could verify what I had said about the fact that Corbin's colors were Maroon and White before they were Red and White. I'm including the pictures that I received. I was wrong about the date on the yearbook. I said late 1930s but it was 1936.
  12. I'd like to point out that Maroon is a shade of Red. Also speculating, Corbin possibly got tired of or maybe actually liked being called the Red Hounds and changed their colors to Red and White to become the Redhounds we know today. I really couldn't say for sure because I wasn't there and had not even been born. But what I can say is that I will contact the lady who owns the yearbook and get pictures so that we can all know with confidence that Corbin's colors were Maroon and White before they were Red and White.
  13. I have seen a Corbin High School yearbook from the late 1930s and it was call The Maroon. Their colors were Maroon and White. I don't know when they were changed to Red and White.
  14. That was their original color. Maroon and White.
  15. Got a correction. Goal scored at 23:25 of the first half was made by #17 Kennedy Turner with assist going to #14 Lindley Purdy off her free kick from the 39 yard line.
  16. Only score of the game was by Douglass 8th grader Lindley Purdy.
