Class 3A Updates ~ ⚔️ 🇫🇮 ♈️ No. 1 ranked Lafayette blitzed the Central Kentucky Conference championship meet at Bourbon Co. The Generals placed seven runners in the top eight, all under 16:25 - very impressive. No. 3 Covington Catholic came home from the Midwest Catholic Championship meet at Cedarville with the runner-up trophy. The Colonels were paced by sophomore Asher Edmonson. No. 5 duPont Manual placed a very respectable 9th in the Championship Division at the huge "Twilight at PR'ville" in Huntsville. 🏆🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️Class 1A Regions ~ A resurgent Ft Campbell will battle 1A newcomer Trigg County in The Purchase. Owensboro Catholic and Collegiate are chasing perfection (first five places) in their Regions; both with oh so close scores of 18 points. I'm really pleased to see Newport Central Catholic fielding a team again this year in NKY. Lexington Christian Academy's move up to 2A opens the door for a tussle between Owen County and Danville in Central Kentucky. A new crosstown rivalry has developed between a newish Somerset Christian program and old school hand Somerset in the Southeast. The "6th man" tiebreaker may come into play in the Mountain Region, as Raceland and Pikeville are projecting to a virtual tie this week. 5️⃣ Regional First Fives ~ R1*: 1 Ft Campbell 25; 2 Trigg Co 32; 3 Murray 89; 4 Hickman Co 137 . . . 🏆🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ Class 2A Regions ~ Regional supremacy is on the line across the Bluegrass. Out West, Webster County vs. Union County. North Central features Lexington Catholic vs. newcomer Lexington Christian Academy. South Central has two clear front-runners in Mercer County and Wayne County. Look for North Oldham, dropping back down to 2A, to resume dominating in Region 3. 5️⃣ Regional First Fives ~ ● R1: 1 Webster Co 43; 2 Union Co 56; 3 Ohio Co 71; 4 Calloway Co 83; 5 Butler Co 102 ● R2: 1 Adair Co 53; 2 LaRue Co 69; 3 J Hardin 77; 4 Warren E 83; T Nelson 102 ● R3: 1 N Oldham 26; 2 Henry Co 87; 3 Shelby Co 88; 4 CAL 147; 5 Spencer Co 154 ● R4: 1 Lex Cath 39; 2 LCA 43; 3 Highlands 65; 4 Bourbon Co 95; 5 St Henry 195 ● R5: 1 Mercer Co 25; 2 Wayne Co 34; 3 McCreary Cent 109; 4 Garrard Co 110; 5 Russell Co 117 ● R6: 1 Ashland 33; 2 Russell 66; 3 Rowan Co 91; 4 E Carter 114; 5 Boyd Co 131 ● R7: 1 Harlan Co 36; 2 Corbin 53; 3 Knox Cent 83; 4 Bell Co 111; 5 Clay Co 148 🗓 Class 2A Regional meets are scheduled for Saturday, October 24.

Class 1A Updates ~ ♣️ 🐯 🐎 ⚔️ Owensboro Catholic, the lone "small school" from the Bluegrass, fared well at the big "PR'ville" meet in Huntsville on Saturday. The Senior laden Lady Aces now boast six girls with times ranked in the Top 20 this season. OC leapfrogs previous best in class Beechwood to lead all 1A squads. Region 4 (NKY) is loaded - Beechwood is followed by Bishop Brossart and Villa Madonna in the statewide Top 10, and Holy Cross, New Cath, and Walton-Verona all ranked in the Top 25 this week. 2️⃣0️⃣ 1A Team Rankings: 1 O'boro Cath 51; 2 Beechwood 115; 3 Brossart 181; 4 Ft Campbell 188; 5 Collegiate 195 6 Villa Madonna 228; 7 Somerset Chrst 265; 8 Trigg Co 306; 9 Bethlehem 326; 10 Green Co 394 11 Somerset 411; 12 Pikeville 422; 13 Ft Knox 425; 14 Raceland 451; 15 Cov Holy Cross 491 16 Owen Co 501; 17 New Cath 510; 18 Danville 522; 19 Ky Country Day 617; 20 Gallatin Co 679 2️⃣0️⃣ 1A Individual Rankings: 1 Peyton Reid, O'boro Cath, 18:35; 2 Elizabeth Mathews, Walden, 18:40; 3 Molly Chambers, Sayre, 18:41; 4 Callie Ochsner, Brossart, 19:01; 5 Linden Pickler, Ft Campbell, 19:23 6 Margaret Dulaney, Collegiate, 19:32; 7 Jasmine Cozmanciuc, Villa Madonna, 19:38; 8 Ainsley Stutter, O'boro Cath, 19:39; 9 Veyda Grnols, Trigg Co, 19:53; 10 Kendyl Meadows, Somerset Chrstn, 19:54 11 Norie Barker, Villa Madonna, 20:01; 12 Rikey Coffee, Green Co, 20:31; 13 Audra Pohlgeers, Beechwood, 20:37; 14 Anna Booker, O'boro Cath, 20:38; 15 Nora Schweikhardt, Danville, 20:38 16 Liliana Ketterl, Ft Campbell, 20:42; 17 Ashlie Hayden, O'boro Cath, 20:44; 18 Mia Adkins, Raceland, 20:50; 19 Caroline Wathen, O'boro Cath, 20:53; 20 Emree Coomes, O'boro Cath, 21:00

Class 2A Updates ~ ⚔️ 🦅 🐦 🥃 No Region in the Bluegrass saw more improvement in competition from the new Cross Country classification than 2A R4 Girls. Lexington Catholic, multi-time defending champ, has been joined by Lexington Christian Academy, dominant in 1A for several years. A resurgent, very young Highlands team joins the fray, dropping from 3A. Throw in a shot of Bourbon County, and the Region can now boast four of the Top 5 teams in 2A. 2️⃣0️⃣ 2A Team Rankings: 1 Lex Cath 75; 2 LCA 90; 3 Highlands 132; 4 N Oldham 166; 5 Bourbon Co 222 6 Adair Co 294; 7 Ashland 335; 8 Harlan Co 359; 9 LaRue Co 417; 10 J Hardin 452 11 Shelby Co 462; 12 Webster Co 479; 13 Henry Co 491; 14 Corbin 498*; 15 Warren E 498* 16 Union Co 551; 17 St Henry 579; 18 Russell 609; 19 T Nelson 645; 20 Mercer Co 680 2️⃣0️⃣ 2A Individual Rankings; 1 Baili Hoten, T Nelson, 17:50; 2 Kennedy Moughamian, LCA, 17:55; 3 Anna Dawahare, Lex Cath, 18:23; 4 Abigail Turner, Lex Cath, 18:29; 5 Emma Massingill, Corbin, 18:52 6 Abby Creason, LaRue Co, 18:55; 7 Emma Creason, LaRue Co, 18:59; 8 Danielle Shone, Bourbon Co, 19:05; 9 Grace Horton, N Oldham; 10 June Karls, LCA, 19:09 11 Tessa Begley, Rockcastle Co, 19:11; 12 Adalyn Filiatreau, T Nelson, 19:12; 13 Keira Lumley, Bourbon Co, 19:17; 14 Claire Butler, CAL, 19:27; 15 Hadley Raisor, LCA, 19:30 16 Addie Moulton, Shelby Co, 19:33; 17 Morgan Ripley, Highlands, 19:34; 18 Julia Lowry, Lex Cath, 19:38; 19 Paisley Stone. That surprises me, and I'd have to reserve judgement until I watch it. Whery and the crew at 859 give great coverage of the Boone County schools and are pretty even handed imo. I'd counter that they love them some Cooper girls' basketball. ⚖️
