Harrison County is currently sitting on an 0-7 regular season record and is ranked 34th out of the 38 football programs in the 4A classification, by RPI. The Thorobreds have struggled to make much success in recent years, and currently in their 3rd season under head coach Van Isaac, the team has only managed 3 wins in the 29 total games played under with Isaac at the helm.

As reflected in their overall record and their total 44 points/6 touchdowns, the Harrison County offense has seen limited time and success on the field, averaging only 39.5 total offensive plays per game thus far in the season (the average number of offensive plays for a high school team is typically somewhere in the 50-60 range). The Thorobreds offense is 30% run 70% pass with 695 total yards of offense on the season (99.3 YPG). As an offensive unit, they're currently 46-84 (54.8%) passing for 484 yards (10.5 YPR) and 3 touchdowns with 9 interceptions and on the ground they've rushed 193 times for a 211 yards (1.1 YPC) and 3 touchdowns. Defensively, they've allowed a total of 2,223 yards this season (317.5 YGP).

Harrison County will host Covington Catholic this Friday in the Thorobreds' 3rd and final district game for the season, having lost 78-6 to Highlands on September 25, and then losing 25-0 to Mason County last Friday.

Covington Catholic, currently 0-1 in district competition after losing 38-20 to Highlands on October 2, is sitting on a 4-4 overall season record, with wins over Ryle, Simon Kenton, Dixie Heights and Central and losses to Elder (OH), Beechwood, Highlands, and a 28-20 loss this past Friday to Cathedral (OH).

The Colonels offense is 47% run 53% pass with 2,943 total yards of offense on the season (367.9 YPG). Their pass/run percentage likely appears slightly different than it may have, otherwise, with QB1 Dylan Courtney sitting out of this past Friday's game, reportedly nursing an injury suffered the week before when he left the Highlands game mid-fourth quarter. QB2 Charlie Hull, a sophomore, got the start on Friday against Cathedral and finished the game at 8-13 (61.5%) passing for 60 yards with 1 interception. Officially, tailback Kiyan Miller pounded out 163 rushing yards in the game with 3 touchdowns, although I have him down for 143 yards rushing plus 1 reception on a swing pass that was good for 20 yards. Regardless, as a first-year starter in his sophomore year, Miller has been extremely impressive with over 950 rushing yards on the season - including 6 games with 100+ rushing yards - 1,240 all-purpose yards, and a total 22 touchdowns on the season.

It's unclear whether or not QB Dylan Courtney will return to action for the Colonels on Friday, but he's the 4th key starter to miss games this season for Covington Catholic, and was one of 3 starters on the sidelines in civies last Friday, along with senior WR/DB Mac Cogswell who is out with a broken collar bone, and senior TE/LB Spencer Clukey who is out with a knee injury. Hopefully the Colonels will have as full a slate as possible of their intended starters by the time the playoffs roll around.

What are your expectations for the game on Friday?

Welp....I was gonna be heading down to the game tonight and then my wife and I realized the Saturday night fundraiser we've had on our calendar for a month and a half is actually tonight.

Crap.

Hopefully some of the folks on here can keep us updated on the game from the CAN audio broadcast.
