Covington Holy Cross vs Hazard Predictions/Updates (All 'A' State Tournament, Round 2)

Featured Replies

This should be a fun one to call. Holy Cross (14-5) will play Hazard (18-2) in the quarter finals of the 2023 All "A" State Tournament tonight at 8:00 pm.

The Indians beat Danville in the opening round 72-56 behind 37 points and 15 rebounds from Jacob Meyer. Javier Ward added 18 points. The Bulldogs knocked out Bishop Brossart 68-62 first round behind a strong first-half showing. Max Johnson led them with 17 points. Jamal Hazel added 16.

Hazard will enter the game on a 15-game winning streak while Holy Cross has won 7 straight. Holy Cross Radio will be on the live call starting at approx 7:45 pm. This is the 3rd game of the night session so this 8:00 pm game may not start on time.

What is interesting to me is that in both this game and the previous game, the Indians have not played anywhere near their best and they are likely to win them both by double-digits.

Hazard just didn’t have the energy/stamina to run with this Holy Cross team. Meyer is over 30 points AGAIN and Sam Gibson continues to be a rebounding machine.

15 game winning streak appears to be coming to an end for the Bulldogs.
