Cov Cath holds Dixie's offense scoreless.

Cov Cath fans will wait and see how bad things are with Evan Pitzer's injury.

Haha, I'm not sure...but I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

Whatever…next man up.  No one feels sorry for CCH.  Hope he heals fast, but you gotta move on.  Big test on Friday.

 

Dixie struggles offensively again. Defensively were in some good situations, and again can't get off the field with stupid penalties. This is now a trend with this team. Their bye week could not have come at a better time.

Dixie's offense was nonexistent tonight and the defense scored all of Dixie's points. You can't win games like that. I think it's time to put some of their horses from defense on offense. They could use Rice, Roaden, Glasscock, and Gregg on the offensive side. I think those 4 boys could play both ways.  It don't have to be all the time but when it gets down to crunch time and they need to move the ball it would help. The offensive line was overwhelmed tonight and the qb Gregg was running for his life most of the night. The oline had a good week last week was hoping to see that again. Dixie also had some suspect calls against them, like a Cov Cath player holding on to Rice a little too long and he kicked his leg out of his hand and was called for a personal foul. Then when the staff reacted they threw another flag and gave them another 15 yards. Personally I didn't think it was a flag. But that alone was not the only reason Dixie lost. Next 3 to 4 games do not get any easier with Highlands, Beechwood, Simon Kenton and I believe Ryle coming up. Dixie has a great coaching staff and they will figure it out. I think the bye week is coming at a great time, and Dixie will come back out swinging. They are a feisty group of young men and have some really good athletes on that team. As far as Cov Cath, they have had some pretty big wins and can cause anyone on their schedule some headaches.  Their QB got hurt, but the back up came in and did a pretty good job for them. Hopefully the injury is not serious and I wish him a speedy recovery. Number 55 is a player and did pretty much what ever he wanted on defense. He is big, strong and mean. Everything you want in a DE. Number 10 is a good WR and benefitted from some blow coverages last night. Cov Cath's offensive line is big, but I feel Dixie's strength is their defensive line, and Rice at mike.  (I feel Dixie's DL is one of the best in NKY and Rice is the best LB in NKY.) Dixie got to Cov Cath's QBs alot tonight.  At one point the 3rd string QB was in for Cov Cath. But Cov Cath took advantage of Dixie's secondary and carved them up tonight. (Dixie is young in the secondary). I also know Beechwood DL is great as well and will give Cov Cath problems up front. But Cov Cath will finish with a winning season I believe.  Good luck to both teams on the rest of the seasons.

Yeah I think 55 Aiden Jones and 10 Willie Rodriguez are pretty good players. Nice stat lines for both of those guys last night with Willie going 3 for 83 and 3 TD’s and a sack and FR on D. Jones with 3 TFLs and a sack. Both of those guys have to bring their A game next week if we want to win. 

I’m also really happy for Zacc Roberts. The guy wins the QB job, gets hurt in the 2nd quarter of week 1, and gets his chance again and throws 4 TD’s. Really good stuff by him.

Brach Rice is probably in the top 5 junior linebackers I've ever seen, but I'll be honest, he makes a real habit of hitting too late - and that kid hits very hard. I was in the stands next to a pair of college scouts during the first half and they made the same comment about late hits. Also saw someone post on Facebook that he "hits to the echo of the whistle." Everyone has been open about the officiating being poor last night, and it was poor in both directions, but additional to the late hit and the roughing the passer calls that were called on Rice last night, he had at least 3 more late hits, including a roughing the passer immediately in front of the white cap (it was the hit that shook up Roberts for a play and required Cov Cath to bring in their 3rd string QB for a play), that all went un-called - and I would have made those calls against my own mother. Playing aggressive football is good. Hitting late is not.
