Do you (or anyone) have any idea what type of offense Knoxville Catholic runs?

I havent seen what they run this year, but when Belfry played them in 2015 and 2016 they ran the spread and did a lot of tempo. That year they had a smallish QB with a cannon that is now at MTSU. The RB went on to Chattanooga, they had All-American Amari Rodgers at WR (now at Clemson), and two other WR's went on to play D1 football. That year they also had All_American Cade Mays on the OL (UGA).

I do know they have a mammoth OLine with a pair of highly rated 4* recruits (one being Mays' younger brother) and they always have plenty of talent and skill on the outside.

Defensively they have a 4* DE. When they played Belfry they did a little Bear Front, but I think they predominantly are a 4-3 team.

Typically they will not play any of their linemen both ways, but their better skill players will do double duty.

Typically this team is lethal on Offense but will have some Defensive weakpoints.

I pulled this from this week's 5A Notebook:

The opener of the Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic pits Kentucky high school football royalty against one of the top programs from the volunteer state. The Fighting Irish have been a D1 factory in recent years and are again loaded with future FBS talent. Offensive linemen Cooper Mays (Tennessee commit) and Bryn Tucker (Clemson commit) along with defensive ends Tyler Baron (offers from Ohio State and Oklahoma) and Stiles Moore (Western Michigan commit) make KnoxCath as formidable in the trenches as anyone in this region of the country. The Irish are currently sitting at #4 in the USA Today Tennessee Super 25.

This is going to be quite a challenge for the Bluebirds.

The last time Knoxville Catholic played KY competition were those great Belfry teams in 2015 and 2016.

In 2015 Belfry beat them 38-14 at Pond Creek. Catholic ended up going on to win the Tennessee 4A Championship.

In 2016 Belfry traveled to Knoxville in what was a State Semi-Final type of atmosphere. All the local media outlets were hyping the game up and it was broadcast live down there as the game of the week. Catholic won 45-20. That was the only blemish on Belfry's record.

Both games the margin of victory was not indicative of the game. In 2015 Catholic made several trips into belfry territory but could not capitalize on 4th Down. In 2016, Belfry had I believe 5 or 6 lost fumbles including 2 or 3 deep in Catholic territory and also had a long TD run called back on a holding call thrown behind and away from the play.

Highlands is going to see a very tough team.

Knoxville Catholic is also the former school of Minnesota Vikings and former Notre Dame All-Star Safety Harrison Smith.
