Is that a compliment? Lol, just joking.

Congrats Coach Listerman and the Bluebirds. I wonder if Hicks or Menefee will want to be assistants under the new coach.

Can't imagine Hicks wanting to leave Bellevue's head Coaching position to be an assistant. I think Bellevue has some talent coming up considering they are DIII

Wow!!!! What a difference this coaching change has made so far. Kids have come back to the program and the "open" gyms are very intense from what I am told and have seen. Seems the bar has been raised and the kids are being held accoutable, but they are responding. Turnout has been excellent.

Would that indicate that Coach Flynn was the problem or that Coach Listerman is the potential solution?

Agreed. I too have spoken to 2 key players and they were smiling as they told me how spirited their 1st open gym with Coach Listerman was. I am happy for the boys, their parents, and the fans.

Will his Dad be joining him on the bench at Highlands?

Since this one has been open, I've thought it was one that could be a sleeping giant considering Highlands' status as a Blue Ribbon School, along with their tradition and success.

Dad will not be joining son at HHS.

I heard Menefee is the JV coach now. True?

Who will coach Frosh?

That is my understanding based upon what the kids were told.

So what is up with the Highlands Summer schedule?

ARe they doing any team camps? Last couple years they have done NKU/Morehead St and Louisville PRP.

I understand some of the football kids that didnt play last year are coming out. Bo Hoge and Griffin Urlage are a couple who's names have been mentioned.

Good to hear.

Will Mike join his son on the bench at Highlands?

As of two weeks ago, no. Mike is staying at Holmes, for the time being.

This was also confirmed earlier in the thread I believe.

Joining Listerman on his staff is one of his former players at Boone Co Parker LaBoiteaux as a special assistant. Beau Menefee I believe will be the JV coach.

Wish them the best of luck. The program needed someone that is young and looking to jumpstart a program not a veteran coach who was planning to retire.

Been going at it pretty good the last several weeks. Love the intensity and the coaching that takes place in each session. Kids come out exhausted which is nice to see. Turnout has been pretty good so far. All rising seniors have been at practice, there are a handful of juniors to be and about a dozen rising sophs.

There are practices about 4 times a week now, with scrimmages mixed in along the way. Yes Beau Hoge has been there most every day and Griffin Urlage has been spotty at best. Most are familiar faces to those that have followed the program the last few years.

Coach Listerman has been a breath of fresh air and that is no shot at the prior staff. He is much more demanding of the kids and holds them accountable for getting to practice and working hard while they are there. Not saying this team will be a regional champion, but things will be a little different this year IMO.
