Photo appears to show Ky. S.O.S. traveling 100 mph to Kentucky Derby in police Car

Feel like its the norm around here for me to be in the minority but this seems like a big deal to me , NOT that she got a police escort , I dont care at all, but 100 MPH ? Entirely unsafe and unwarranted , and the cop should be in very hot water . And she must be a dimwit as well, tell the driver to slow your butt down to a reasonable 80 . 100 just isnt safe . Could kill a family member of mine or yours with that type speed .

I agree. No excuse to be WAY over the limit like that unless it's an emergency. Here in Louisville, an officer killed a teenage girl flying up a divided highway a few years ago at 90+. That guy will probably never forgive himself. Just don't put yourself in that position.

Secretary Grimes's Office issued a statement on Tuesday saying, "It must be a slow news day when folks are trying to use four-days-old tweets to manufacture a story. The photo was put up by staff to thank law enforcement. The ridiculous speculation surrounding the photo is unwarranted and led to staff removing the tweet. It reduces the selfless and amazing work of all law enforcement to keep people safe over Derby weekend. "
Diversion at it's finest.

You know what else reduces the selfless and amazing work of all law enforcement?

- Having to drive Miss Daisy to the Derby

Maybe she should have to do what the rest of us do and get her butt out of bed early to get to the track on time. Also soes she have an official function at the Derby? If not I'm sure she paid for her transportation.

I wonder who gave her a ticket?

I work for the State, and I had to take an ethics course and sign a document. I guess she is excluded?

And it is a load of hooey for those who want to dismiss it....your politics are showing. Right is right and 100 mph in a state vehicle for a entertainment event is stupid, dangerous and an unnecessary burden to taxpayers.

:thumb: Love it!

And personally, I have nothing against ALG, contrary to what I would have thought. I have run into her in the Capitol, and she seems to be a pleasant person.

Conduct like this by our Political Leaders and Police Officers makes me sick.

With that said, I understand for top level Government Officials sometimes moving fast is a secure way to move but in those cases it is normally a motorcade with the highway nearly shutdown for safe and fast passage.

This conduct by Grimes and the State Trooper is unlawful.

What would happen if I were clocked running that speed, pulled over and I said " got get to the Derby"? as my excuse?
