It was a good game for a half then Highlands blew it open in the 3rd quarter. I thought Bricking and Detmer played well for Dixie but Dixie's defense simply could not stop Highlands.

Nice win birds. You deserved it. The onside kick was a stroke of genius. I also liked the two minute hurry up offense immediately afterwards. Why Spritzky or Sorrel didn't call a time out I don't know. At that point it was still a game. Instead they just let it slip away in the blink of an eye. Dixie got outplayed and out coached in the second half. The score should have been 21 to 7 or 14 in the first half.

You all have a great ball club and hopefully when we meet in the playoffs it'll be a better game.

Anyone have any offensive stats for either team?

Thought Dixie had momentum on their side late in the 1st half, Dixie does the smart thing and lets clock run down to 20 seconds and then try a field goal but miss. Highlands throws one deep down to 31 and Bathiany drills a 47 yarder and go into the half on a high note.

I think had Cecil played most of the first half instead of the last few plays, this game might have been out of control by halftime.

Highlands has always been the King of momentum. They understand it, like it and live it.:thumb: And I'm not even a Highlands fan,I just respect their approach to the game.

I think you are correct. I don't remeber seing him playing any defense in the first half or did I just miss him.

I think your right about Cecil...The refs threw a lot of late penalties which I think were very questionable!!! I'm not taking anything away from Dixie, I just didn't like the late flags after the Dixies coaches complained!!!

What do the Blue Birds have to do to get a little competition around here?
