Extremely sad news being reported by CJ-young man passed away this evening. God be with him, his family, and the PRP community.

One for sure was the tear-away jerseys. As a youngster at that game I can still remember the Belfrey running backs coming to the sidelines with just a few strings holding the jersey together. I'm not sure of the other one.

Toughest pitcher I faced was Pat Curtis from Scott, 1988.

They draw to draw first. They then have the district winners draw and after setting the winners in the brackets they then draw the runner ups.

You are correct. I have seen her make those shots on many nights, last night just wasn't her night for shooting the outside jumpshot. IMO HHS needs Nat to make some of those shots for them to win the region.

I couldn't believe that when I read it also. They play 10 times, HHS wins at least 8 of the 10. The game was good but once HHS took the 8 point lead in the third NCC couldn't get anything going. Very physical game inside. I really like the Tabor girl from NCC and the frosh guard is going to be a good one. With what NCC has returning they should be fine next year. It's hard to believe that this will make the second time in three years that NCC hasn't made the regionals. As for HHS they are a good team but in order for them to be great Horner has to be able to make the outside shot and last night she didn't. Horner making shots opens up the middle for Adler and Towes and also gives Allen some freedom.

Monique Reid should win but we know that girls from Louisville usually don't win Ms. Basketball. I have seen Gibbs, Novesel, Rickets, and recently watched Reid and Reid is the best in Ky. this year.

Highlands won the region in 86-87 and were favored to win in 88 with Blasingame, Cox, and Cowie. HHS upset by Holy Cross in 1st round of region. Holmes, with Jennings, defeated Campbell Co. and Tim Russell. Jennings was a man among boys in the 9th region that year.

NCC/HHS will not be played. Neither school had any time in schedule to play it. Adds more excitement to district game. Very interested to see how each team plays each other and what adjustments will be made in the game.

UL signee Monique Reid had 55 pts and 19 rebs against Warren East on Saturday. I haven't had the pleasure of watching her play so can someone give me a scouting report on her?

You are correct. First time this has happened in at least 6 years that I can recall. As for the money, I've attended the district draw before and if I'm not mistaken HHS and NCC have offered to split their regional share with the other schools in the district if they would have seeded. State needs to step in and mandate either seeding or draw for entire state.

Understand, but you read about some of the proposals that are brought to the KHSAA that is voted upon each year by all member schools, why couldn't an AD bring this to vote by the member schools of the KHSAA?

Could the AD at HHS or NCC propose to the KHSAA that all districts should seed? Similar to what the football coaches did to change the first two rounds of the playoffs. If they did propose this do you think they would get enough votes around the state to make seeding permanent?

They have nine games left, with Holmes, NCC, and North Hardin(top 10 in state) remaining on their schedule. Harrison County at Harrison County is never easy. I think that's a perfect schedule for the remainder of the year. Enough challenging games to go with games they should win easily.

I think this year there are 4 teams that can beat each other on a given night, ND,HHS, BC, and Conner and right now HHS is playing extremely well. Should be an exciting 9th region this year. Don't count out NCC either.

That is correct. Great win for HHS. Does this move them to #1? Beat Conner twice, Boone once and lost to ND in OT.

The two match up tomorrow night in the Championship game of the Kenton County Classic. Conner looking to avenge an earlier loss to Highlands who is playing very well right now. Anyone know what time and where this game is being played?
