  1. Highlands won the region in 86-87 and were favored to win in 88 with Blasingame, Cox, and Cowie. HHS upset by Holy Cross in 1st round of region. Holmes, with Jennings, defeated Campbell Co. and Tim Russell. Jennings was a man among boys in the 9th region that year.
  2. Hats off to UL for coming up to NKU to open the new arena. I'm not a big fan of UL but this is impressive. Both UL men's and women's team will be ranked to open the season next year and the women have one of the top 4 players in the country. How often do you see a D-1 team play at a D-2 school?
  3. NCC/HHS will not be played. Neither school had any time in schedule to play it. Adds more excitement to district game. Very interested to see how each team plays each other and what adjustments will be made in the game.
  4. Still doesn't change the fact the clock stopped at 0.2. Who ever was running it screwed up or the clock just happened to malfunction with 0.2 seconds left.
  5. If the foul was called by the offical on the baseline his hand goes up at the same time the clock hits 0.0. Going by his hand the game should have been over if the clock doesn't stop at 0.2. Did you also notice the clock didn't start on the inbounds play? Wonder if it was a clock malfunction or a finger malfunction? Too bad a great game has to end like that.
  6. UL signee Monique Reid had 55 pts and 19 rebs against Warren East on Saturday. I haven't had the pleasure of watching her play so can someone give me a scouting report on her?
  7. Notre Dame wins by 8. NCC playing better but with Cundiff still hurting ND has too much.
  8. You are correct. First time this has happened in at least 6 years that I can recall. As for the money, I've attended the district draw before and if I'm not mistaken HHS and NCC have offered to split their regional share with the other schools in the district if they would have seeded. State needs to step in and mandate either seeding or draw for entire state.
  9. Understand, but you read about some of the proposals that are brought to the KHSAA that is voted upon each year by all member schools, why couldn't an AD bring this to vote by the member schools of the KHSAA?
  10. Could the AD at HHS or NCC propose to the KHSAA that all districts should seed? Similar to what the football coaches did to change the first two rounds of the playoffs. If they did propose this do you think they would get enough votes around the state to make seeding permanent?
  11. They have nine games left, with Holmes, NCC, and North Hardin(top 10 in state) remaining on their schedule. Harrison County at Harrison County is never easy. I think that's a perfect schedule for the remainder of the year. Enough challenging games to go with games they should win easily.
  12. I think this year there are 4 teams that can beat each other on a given night, ND,HHS, BC, and Conner and right now HHS is playing extremely well. Should be an exciting 9th region this year. Don't count out NCC either.
  13. That is correct. Great win for HHS. Does this move them to #1? Beat Conner twice, Boone once and lost to ND in OT.
  14. Halftime score: HHS 38 Conner 29 Conner jumped out 9-0 to start the game.
  15. The two match up tomorrow night in the Championship game of the Kenton County Classic. Conner looking to avenge an earlier loss to Highlands who is playing very well right now. Anyone know what time and where this game is being played?
  16. Great win by HHS. Sophmore Towles has 24. HHS has played a difficult schedule and it looks like it's paying off.
  17. Good point, or playing JV ticked her off, she's worked harder in practice and has gotten better. Either way she's been playing great basketball of late and lets hope she keeps it up. Great Kid.
  18. Soccer. ALOT of girls start soccer at early age. In the past not many opportunites for 1st, 2nd, 3rd graders to play basketball. It's getting better but still have a ways to go. I beleive this might be the first group of core players-Allen, Horner, Towles, Cutter, ect. who have played AAU and not soccer in the summer.
  19. Can't a player who plays half of the varsity game improve by playing JV? HHS has 3-4 freshman who play Freshman and JV so they are getting plenty of time also. HHS only has 17 players right now at the Varisty,JV, and Freshman level and 2 of those players are seniors and one is an 7th/8th grader. ALL of the girls are getting minutes. IMO players who don't start varsity, aren't seniors and only play 16 minutes in a varsity game should play JV also.
  20. She has been playing all year long, she just hasn't started. HHS goes about 8-9 deep and most of the players are playing less minutes this year which has helped the TEAM. As a player if I didin't start varsity as a junior I would have loved to play as many minutes of possible in any game. Why is everybody so hung up on starting?? Coach Richey believes that if you are an underclassman and you don't start varsity you will play JV to get more minutes. By the looks of things Natalie embraced the idea of playing, worked on her game, improved her game, and now Natalie and the TEAM are better for it. I'm sure all coaches would love to have players who are as unselfish as Natalie.
  21. She hasn't played JV since Mallory got hurt. Before that she was playing JV because she wasn't starting varsity and only averaged 15 min a game at the varsity level. Coach Richey believes in letting players who don't start varsity play JV to keep them sharp. The JV games I have been at when Natalie played JV she only played about a half of the game. Hope that helps.
  22. I'm in my late 30's and still recieve B-Day cards from Vi every year with a dollar in it. Greatest Bluebird of all time.
