Great game played by both teams. Letcher County came out and gave it everything they had. Even though the score doesn't show it, they played us tough and had us worried more than a few times, early on. The Cougars have nothing to be ashamed of from this performance.

Good job Birds! Next stop - Lincoln County! :thumb:

Birds roll... Congrats to Letcher on a great season. Very impressed by the QB from Letcher. Didn't miss many recievers and was on his back on just about every pass.

Very gutsy performance by the Letcher Co. QB! He was banged up fairly early and stayed in the game and played like a warrior all night. Thumbs up to #4 for LC too, he also played hurt and played well!

LC plays an excellent brand of football for having been around so short a time. Good luck to all the LC seniors and congrats on a fantastic senior season! As for all the underclassmen at LC, I expect we will see you all many times down the road! Have a great off season and we will see you all next year!

I was also impressed by #14 (Banks). Excellent passer and good scrambler. It appears he hurt or aggrevated his hamstring on the TD run. The outcome of the game was never in doubt, but Banks was sure fun to watch!

How about the Birds now for us fans who couldnt get up there? Who shined?

The usual cast on Offense. Conners and Hurtt had some big holes to run through, Draper caught a beautiful deep ball at the end of the half for a TD and the Defense swarmed all over the place. I've never seen a D have so many kids on the tackle. On one play I counted nine on the pile. Letcher moved the ball effectively through the air at times but couldn't run it at all.

JC had some long runs. O-line dominated. Jay Draper has to be avging over 30yds/catch now. D was tough as always. Two early TOs were pretty much the only blemish on a stellar performance by the Birds. You really ought to try and get out once and a while:D

The Birds defense was suffocating on the run. I'm betting LC averaged less that 2-3 yards per carry all game long. Longest run was maybe 9 yards. LC passed well but the Birds Defense only bent and never broke.

On offense it was a minimum of 10+ yards per carry for the Birds. The O line was awesome, the holes they blew open were things of beauty and Conner, Cecil and Hurtt just ran at will. If not for 2 turnovers deep in LC territory, this one was 42-0 in the 2nd quarter. Cecil passed very few times but made the most of them. A fantastic 50 yard TD toss to Jay Draper was absolute perfection!

Sorry to see the scoreless string snapped but neither LC touchdown came easily. The defense is hitting on all cylinders and the offense is too!

Great job Birds! Now on to the business of Lincoln County!

I don't know the names, but how about some kudos for our second team guys on making some fantastic plays late in the game! :ylsuper:

They threatened a couple times as well. In fact, we needed a great goal-line stand to stop one score.

This is a deep and talented team. The backups would start and dominate at most schools!

LCC was well prepared for the Birds. Their players and coaches were classy and so was their fans.

A good number of Letcher County fans in attendance tonight! You all should be proud of your team and your team should be thankful to have such dedicated fans!

The Bluebirds Defense was just flat out scary tonight. They are so fast and strong, they are really fun to watch. I realized tonight what state championships was all about.
