A good number of Letcher County fans in attendance tonight! You all should be proud of your team and your team should be thankful to have such dedicated fans!

It was really cool to see all of their fans come down and line-up across the field to greet their players. I just hope someone warned them that they were standing under the cannon!

Congrats to Letcher Co. Central they had a great season!! Also congrats to Highlands you guys are as good as any in the state!! Good luck the rest of the way, I think this team at Highlands will make their fans very proud in a couple of weeks!!

The Cougars made Highlands step up after the 1st quarter. After that Highlands controlled all aspects of the game. But during that first quarter Letcher was right there playing with them. Highlands just had LCC overmatched. I daresay when these two meet again on down the road (and they will many times) Letcher will be up to the task. As for Highlands this year though, The playing environment there is second to none. Same as the football team. These players,coaches, and fans are a class act and deserve everything they get this year. I will be pulling for them on that cold day at the Pizza Box

I just wanted to echo the nice things said about LCC's players, coaches and fans. Great, classy people who represented the mountains very, very well. LCC played their hearts out. I was very impressed with the sophistication of their offense and their discipline. You could tell its a Howard coached team. They played a lot of younger kids which makes the future very promising for them. I have a feeling we may be crossing paths with them many times in the future.

 

 

Good job Birds. Very good job. Frankly everyone played well.

Great game Birds from a worthy opponent. LCC has nothing to be ashamed of from this game. They gaqve it all on each play and were just up against a team hitting on all cylindrs tonight. LCC has a good program and keep at it, we'll see you again and soon. #14 good player and next year may be a great one. Keep the focus and work hard now for next season. Congrats on a very good season.

The O-line, under the SR leadership of center Brady Dowling, was fabulous tonite! Luke Stein and Ryan Ball were dynamite and the "AA highway" was open and running at full speed! (Alex Hempfling & Adam Dempsey). Cecil, Hurtt, Conner were high flyin' and Jay Draper finally got off the porch and into the "house"! Hooo-ray Sparky!! The D was .... well, the D! We've come to expect this kind of stellar effort from Coach Weinrich's troops. Adam Reis, Peko (like Bono, he needs only one name!), Michael Laber, Cody Rosenhagen, "Jack" Frost were all rushing and flyin' to the ball like mad dogs (red dogs?). LB's Hurtt, Ball, Stein, Drew Simons, and young Roller did a great job on pass cover and run stuffing. Drew Bathiany, Jake Carothers, Austin Collinsworth ( we saw you "sneakin'!!) did a great job keepin' everything in front and then bringin' the wood!! Special teams...another outstanding effort!! I guess what I mean to say here is GREAT TEAM VICTORY!!
