Jalen Hayes born and bred a Newport Firefighter and played in the NKYFL for eight years as did Josh Conner and Travis Alford, But they all lived in Fort Thomas and was all proud to be Highland Bluebirds. Good Luck have a great year boys and congratulations on such a big win!!!

Great game for both teams ! I was really impressed with Bellevue's runningback #22 Slater big, strong and good speed. But Newport has some great team speed, they have so many weapons on Offense they are going to be a team to recond with Mid-season. But the youngman I was most impressed with was #46 Jake Whaley LB for Newport's defense, flat out nasty good size, speed and a real tough football player, I bet he was in on 20 Tackles and a couple sacks, great game he plays the game the way its suppose to be played, Jake has to be one of the better Linebackers in NKY. I'm not sure but there was some Whaley brothers that used to play for Highlands back in the years, wonder if he is related. Good Luck both Teams!!!

They should have been at the Dixie Heights game, sounds like they could have used all of their tackling knowledge of the game there.

Ryle has a nice program, and IMO I think they will win 6A up here. But even though Highlands dont have the team they had last year, its just different football. The Bluebirds passing attack will be to much for the Raiders. Travis Elliot is a heck of a runningback, but with no passing attack they are just to much of a one dimensional team. And if they could throw the ball good luck, I think the birds have everyone back in the secondary. no negatives, should be great football action. Good Luck Both Teams! HHS 44 R 10

I truely hope that the Tigers Ad can take advantage of this oppourtunity. Who else would you want to be your head coach? First Chad Montgomery is a born and bred Bellevue guy, a football HOF in Bellevue and NKYFL. He's a First Class individual, knows and understands the game of fooball and how to coach and teach it. IMO, Why not face it? He will be the Head coach at Bellevue High school sooner or later. Just as well let him get started on keeping the program rolling. Look at the other young area high school football coaches such as Newport (Nick Rice) and NCC ( Eddie Eviston). Good Luck Chad and the Bellevue Tigers!!!

Great news for Cody and for TMC. Cody is just one of the nicest, classiest youngmen that I know. He has a great football talent, tough, fast, strong and has a lot of heart. Congrats to Cody and his family, for choosing such a great school, especially fitting for you. Look forward on coming to see you play!!

Look for the Wildcats to pull this barnburner out, they are on a mission and they have to many guys that can score. Great youngman on and off the court, character is big in this kind of environment. Demarco is truely a great player and a very nice youngman. But like most of the greats he gives alot of credit to his teamates. Which is the correct thing to do when your talking about team and that's what the Newport Wildcats have, is a team. Thats why they won the ninth region championship, as a team. Congradulations to the Cats, Now go make everyone from area proud, we are all backing you guys!!!

Great job Coach Russell and the Newport Wildcats. Their run through the 9th Region Tournament was really enjoyable for me and my family. It was kind of like the movie "Hoosiers". The effort and heart shown by the Newport players was a good enough lesson for me my and family. And not any negatives of the game. Don't let that stuff take away from what these boys from Newport have accomplished. Hopefully everyone learns from there mistakes and let the Wildcats enjoy there big win, they deserve that much!!

What an event, just a wonderful enviroment and such a positive atmosphere for anyone to attend. I had four generations of my family there and seen former players and old friends that I have'nt seen years. The one thing that caught my attention was the support and the followings these schools have. I was so impressed with CovCath's program from the coaching staff and the sportsmanship of the players to the unbelievable expierience of seeing the student section, that had to be one of the most school spirited and neatest things that I ever seen at any sporting event. Hat's Off to the students and the people that are organizing these "Cov Cath Crazies" Good Luck Both teams in the future!!

Great game both teams, Shaun Meyer was just outstanding he really deserves to make the all tourney team!!! Keep your head up Grant Pangallo, and thanks for all the good memories. I just missed little jimmy jumping up and down like the toyota commercial. good luck Boone you can beat the Bulldogs if you believe that you can.
