Demarko Foster 9th Region Tourney MVP

Featured Replies

Congrats to this young man for stepping up his game this past weekend and leading the Wildcats past some formidable opponents namely the defending champs. I just heard from a buddy that this kid is a total gym rat and sneaks into gyms to work on his game. In fact he said his son trains with former Xavier guard Sherwin Anderson, who has been working with Demarko over the past 2 years. He said Demarko was an average player before getting with Sherwin and that he was a big reason for his success. He also said Demarko is a tireless worker and is in the gym a ton. Great kid also who will even show the younger kids a thing or two during training sessions. I hope he gets some offers.

Didnt see the Ryle game but from the 4th quarter of the CCH game on he just went into beast mode and dominated the tournament. When he is aggressive with the ball in his hands one of 3 things is going to happen. He is either going to score, get fouled, or draw the defense to him and kick it to an open teammate for a good look.

Someone in another thread stated that he has not taken his ACT. Was he not planning on attending college? I know most kids take this at least once during their jr. year and another time during their sr. year. Isn't it also true that you cannot make any official visits until you have already qualified under the NCAA guidelines?

Sherwin is a great coach. Here is his team that won the Tar Heels Tourney last August.

Demarko led the team.

Demarco is truely a great player and a very nice youngman. But like most of the greats he gives alot of credit to his teamates. Which is the correct thing to do when your talking about team and that's what the Newport Wildcats have, is a team. Thats why they won the ninth region championship, as a team. Congradulations to the Cats, Now go make everyone from area proud, we are all backing you guys!!!

He will attend college somewhere.

The original plan was to take a year of prep school after this year.

With all the turmoil changing schools and states the ACT got lost. He has good grades but no ACT at this point.

I talked to Sherwin tonight during a training session he had with my son and some boys on my grade school team and he said that Demarko and him worked very hard for that moment yesterday and he was very proud of him.

The ACT should have a record of his scores. I think they keep scores for at least 5 years upon completion of the test.

Bad way for Holmes to go out but, Newport was ready to send them out and thats just what happened.
