Sounds like a good game. CovCath must have played a lot better than the other night to hang with Newport. Congrats to the Cats on the nice win. They are a very good team and I'd say that most of independent fans will pull for the Cats tomorrow vs. Holmes (or Boone).

The cats played decent for the first 3 quarters but really kicked it in gear and dominated in the fourth. They got outrebounded pretty badly I thought. CCH really didnt have anyone that could check Foster and he came up big in the 4th. Sizemore had a nice game as well. McDaniel and Luther were solid as well. #25 for CCH was easily their player of the game.

How was the outside shooting for Covington Catholic?

CovCath literally and figuratively got shot down in this one.

 

Newport hit all the big shots in the fourth quarter when they had to have them.

Thought you would be in Maysville tonite, Mustang.

Foster is a player, very impressed with this young man. Hit a couple of big three's, and took care of the bb down the stretch.

When a team outscores you 24/0 from behind the arch, you won't win the game and while CovCath (for them) had a pretty decent night from the Charity line, Newport was outstanding! At one point I think Newport made 11 straight free throws!

I heard that Thelen had 5 assists. I'll assume they were all to Wellbrock who went 7/8 from the field.

 

You won't find many/any 4/5 tandems that pass inside like those two do.
