Congrats to the Defenders on the road win.

The player development part of the season starts for Beechwood as younger players regularly get first half action. I'm sure that Coach Rash will keep them humble, hungry, and focused as they RC their opponents. The Tigers are fun to watch.

Great reminders of 3 really good games the last 3 years. This year, I'll try to forget.

His first solo was on a 4 and 1 on NT's first series. Second solo on kickoff coverage. Third solo in the final 5+ minutes, where he played all defensive downs. The staff obviously likes him and I'm guessing he will start next season as a true sophomore.

Indiana begins national title defense with a 52-16 win over North Texas. Jacob Savage from Ryle with 3 solo tackles. That's a nice accomplishment for a true frosh.

It's good for a great team like Trinity to face some adversity and play far less than their best against a formidable opponent and still win handily. I don't see any Kentucky team avoiding the Running Rock Clock against T.

The opening kickoff set the tone. Ryle returned it to the Cooper 9 but a holding penalty on the opposite side of the field took them back to their own 19. On another punt return to the Cooper 25 in the first half, a holding penalty took the Raiders back to their own 40. Ryle could not capitalize on short fields and had FIVE turnovers to Cooper's none. Cooper botched a punt from their own territory and Ryle returned it to the Cooper 16. A few plays later, an interception in the end zone ended that threat. Their sophomore QB did not play in the second half, so I assume he must have been injured but do not know. Ryle was outplayed and outcoached. Congrats to Cooper. Next up for the Raiders - CAL and Highlands. YIKES!

CovCath with 3 running clock games, two in their favor. Elder is extremely legit. Ryle and SK are not this year.

I wonder if I can change my vote so that I can be smart. Oh wait, then I have to be drug tested. I'd rather be dumb, I'll stick with CovCath. Good stuff on a Monday!

Mighty CovCath with a bounce back win here. It has been a running clock blowout in favor of the Blue Colonels in recent years. The possibility exists again this year, but I think SK will stay within 28 points.

The last 3 years have been decided by the winning team taking advantage of errors/penalties or 4Q turnovers, which is typical in rivalry games. Coin flip type of game with both teams down over past seasons.

Congrats to the Centurions on taking a good Owensboro team to the woodshed. CAL is the second best team in KY overall. I wonder if they will win all of their games by running clock?

I don't see easy wins for Ryle this year. Let's see if they clean up the penalty issues Friday night against Conner.

That made me laugh, Ru. It was good to see you. I believe this year will be a test of the character and perseverance of players and the skill of the coaching staff. The Raiders certainly did not look anywhere close to the squads over the last 5-6 years in the scrimmages. Will the players work harder than ever to improve each week and remain mentally tough when they take some lumps. I'm rooting for them. Go Raiders!

I agree with you, U97. Jacob is my favorite Raider in the 25 or so years that I have followed Ryle football. He has Sunday potential at LB.

I'm not going out on even a tiny limb to say that these are the best 2 teams in the state at this time in the season. I'll go with CovCath in a close battle.

For sure. If CovCath continues to hit the 3-ball well with their three sharpshooters, I see them winning state. You can't focus on shutting down just 1 or 2 Colonels.
