They were 3-7 last year. You can’t be young every year. -

Congrats to the Raiders on winning the district. Another tough year in Independence appears headed to 2-9. That surprises me with such a good QB. -

Not even running a no huddle. Pathetic. -

Cooper does not pass the ball well enough to come back in this one. Congrats to the Birds on whipping the Jags! -
Highlands at Cooper Predictions/Updates

I would love to have heard the halftime discussion from Coach Borchers. Highlands is the better team by far in the first half. -
Ryle had 284 yards of total offense on the night, 197 of those coming on the ground. Jayce Harden led the Raider rushers with 71 yards on 14 rushes. Nathan Yowan and Gabe Savage rushed for 48 and 43 respectively. Dixie Heights totaled 219 yards of offense. Landers led the Colonels offense with 121 passing yards and two touchdowns.

I’m shocked by the lack of passing. Was it raining? -
Congrats on the win in a slugfest.

Coaches on the Hot Seat

That’s a great point, as usual, TP94. I agree with that exception. -
Coaches on the Hot Seat
StraightShooter replied to The Flea Market's topic in KY Football (High School)
I don’t like talking about high school coaches on the hot seat based on W/L record like it’s college or pro coaching. In most cases, administrators look beyond record to intangibles like character development, academic success, attitudes in program, etc. Sometimes coaches feel “pressured out” by the community, but many times coaches move on believing they are not the right fit, they are personally disappointed with poor records (no one takes a job planning to lose every year), or the time is best to move on for personal/family reasons. Most firings seem to have more involved than just W/L record and rightfully so at the high school level.- 9 replies

Any details? I am surprised to see 11 points by the Camels unless it was a running clock and they scored 8 against the backups.

Great job X! I was fooled by the LaSalle game thinking this could be an upset special by Manual. -
Sad to see Boone in shambles.

Great job by St X tonight -
Congrats to Cooper on the blowout win. Cooper and CovCath will play again at CovCath in round 2 in another game that could go either way. Cooper is a solid team. I was not impressed with the Birds or Cougars on the nights we played them.

Beechwood at Covington Holy Cross Predictions/Updates
StraightShooter replied to nkypete's topic in KY Football (High School)
First of 7 straight yawners and here’s hoping the lack of competitive games won’t hurt them at the end. -
A 4-7 record is likely at this point with 2 losses to CovCath (reg season and playoff) plus a setback at Cooper.
-
Best laugh of the night happened near the end with an X fan bemoaning an ugly win in more colorful words. Lol! For the record, an ugly victory is better than a moral one! Congrats to X on a hard-fought win.

Not a bad win for the #9 6A team in Kentucky. (SMH at AP ratings). -
It was such a perfect night for football. A hard hitting slugfest played with great passion by both teams. Ryle’s sophomore QB, Logan Verax, took some shots but displayed good escapability and toughness. I fully support TigerPride94 ratings that called for a 10-point win by the Xavierians. So much fun to visit with him. I’m proud of the Raiders and believe they can build off this loss. X was far superior to anyone else we have played.
